Default Audio/Video card Noise with Reaper

Unfortunately when running REAPER my graphics card has a very audible whining noise physically from the card, which makes it a big problem. It works fine with everything else on my PC.

I use a MSI RX580 graphic card to provide HDMI to my audio/video amplifier.
Is there a fix that will eliminate this high pitch noise problem?

My computer system is comprised of: Windows 10, Intel Core i9-10900F CPU@2.8 GHz, Radeon RX580 Armor 8G OC Graphics, 32 GB memory, 3 GB of SSD Hard drives.

Reaper is the current 64 bit version, with ASIO and input via M-Audio M-Track plus.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Randy

Have you checked to make sure you dont have any earth loops between the computer & the AVI amplifier you are using for monitoring? This is what it sounds like to me.

Default Audio/Video card Noise with Reaper

Thanks for responding to my question. The noise doesn't sound like 60Hz AC hum to me.
I was at a loss on how to rigorously determine if the noise was associated with a ground loop, so I loaded an audio spectrum analyzer onto my iPhone.
I saw about a 20db increase in the noise near the rear of my PC cabinet, primarily in the 4 kilohertz range when Reaper was opened vs the baseline.
Any suggestions on to proceed from this point?

You are correct, not cool.

Unfortunately my Intel i9 chip does not have integrated graphics support and requires a graphics card.

I haven't found any information that gives me hope that I can use the on board HD audio along with the graphics card's video capabilities, which of course I need for my computer monitor.

Another point that might be useful diagnostic data is; the graphics card produces the noise only with Reaper. The only time it's quiet with Reaper running is when I open Reaper's audio device settings.

Thanks again.
