I suspected that Adam, which is why I mentioned Tim as well.

Just wanted your input really on whether it's a good idea, although it might be possible in R4 anyway, so maybe we'll just wait on that. If I'm gonna bug Tim for something, it'd be for edit cursor undo history! That's something I can't do currently.

But if you are taking pref requests Adam, here's one for me:

Toggle Asio/Wavout in Audio Device Settings

Cheers!

hey. new version up includes extra middle-click related zoom preferences, namely drag-up with middle mouse to undo zoom.. and a zoom state cursor.
they combine lovely with the lassoo and mid-click to zoom to item! v cool and quick.

http://www.standingwaterstudios.com/new.php

-
edit: I seem to be getting occasional slowness/lag undoing from high zoom levels and it subsequently skipping an undo point it seems - (on a dual core xp decent graphics card machine) any confirmation would be cool from anyone as could be my setup. EDIT -FIXED

many thanks to Tim for including these options!

just a follow up on the cool new zoom prefs mentioned in prev post - a licecap of it in action.

how it's setup in this case:

middle mouse click-drag = marquee zoom
middle mouse click = zoom to item
middle mouse click drag-up = undo zoom
(i've got scroll wheel set for horizontal scroll).

all this with your hand never leaving the mouse - zoom tastic

Default Edit Cursor Undo/Redo

v1.8.6 #2 (November 15, 2010)

Issue 198: Edit cursor position undo/redo. Added actions "SWS: Undo edit cursor move" and "SWS: Redo edit cursor move"

Awesome! Finally we can undo moving the edit cursor, a real timesaver if you have laboriously placed it exactly, then accidentally moved it. I love how it's not tied to the main undo history, this gives you the choice now.

Thanks Tim!!

Great !
I had just to give up my old middle-button setting to Double-click in Logitech driver (for me since prehistoric times of Windows 3x), otherwise it overrides any other action...

and also now in "4" we can assign actions to double click plus modifiers which will make things even more interesting.

(but you didn't hear that from me right!)

Thanx a million Ben for this one. First will this work in V3.73? and I click on the link above but which version do I have download? I'm on PC win Xp Pro Sp3.
Is this the upgraded one with the zoom features? v1.8.6 #4 (November 28, 2010)

Thank you to clarify

Sorry but just new to all these sws macro things that I'm starting to love.

I'm having a bit of trouble getting Reaper to see my mouse-wheel button. I've got it set to Middle-Click in the Microsoft Intellimouse driver software but I can't assign it to anything on the Actions screen. I know the mouse is working okay cause it works as expected in Firefox/IE, with the up-down arrow icon which activates autoscroll. Any thoughts?

Yes it will work in 3.73. I think you want the version Win(x32). (a bit guessing here, but I seem to remember there was no SP3 for XP64bit, so I assume you are running 32bit Windows).

Yes. 1.8.6 #4 is the latest greatest version including the zoom tool .

@ chriscomfort:
Middle mouse button never worked as assignable button in the action list. All things to do with middle button in Reaper are either in the preferences or in SWS extensions.

yeh working on the 3.74pre on xpsp3 i got here fine..

don't thank me for posting "look how cool this is everyone!"

the only thing i could take any credit for is suggesting the addition of the drag-up to undo thang, which Tim kindly included in the arsenal of tools he concocted, i then simply had to share my excitement at the zoom combo tool actions with the main forum...

to recap: i did bugger all.

It's not in action screen but in Extensions > SWS zoom preferences.
(Don't forget to tick Drag upwards > Zoom undo)

Default interpolator love

hey,

is there any potential of seeing some advances on the interpolator? I'm not sure what your arrangement is with the xenakios stuff, though I really must say, the interpolator has SO MUCH potential.

the ability to save curves, better editing, some snapping stuff, and i swear the interpolator could become pretty much a Tracker within a DAW

anyway, i just wanted to put it out there, that the interpolator (is already a wicked tool), though it has potential to be really really amazing - and bridge the element of trackers with DAWs - and even gets into almost granular synthesis realms

so ya, if there's any chance that their might be some energy put into the interpolator, you'd have my hearty support!

just some thoughts......

Each time I install an update in OSX I have to reinstall this extension.

Is there any workaround?
Another place to put the lib instead of Contents/Plugins folder inside the .app?

Yes! The usual path is:
~/Library/Application Support/REAPER/UserPlugins

If you have a nonstandard installation the path may be different. The best way to find the correct path is to run "Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder" from the Options menu. Put reaper_sws.dylib in a UserPlugins directory inside the Reaper directory that appears.

Great! Thanks SWS

Only a suggestion, maybe you could include that info in your web because right now it's only showing how to install it under Windows.

Hey

The latest SWS extention OS X doesnt work with the latest alpha 19 of Reaper 4.
At startup you get the incompatible version warning.

Just to report

yeah, it seems it isn't a rumor! so yeah, nothing merged yet but it seems to be the right place, subz (let's hope a SWS MIDI guy will read your suggestions/questions )

in my humble opinion it needs nothing (unless they open up more midi parts of the API at a later stage, midi grid lines to follow fng groove would be great but is currently not possable)

my Questions are things like:

Will it work on OSX? (not that i use OSX but this power is deserved by ALL)

is there a ETA for the merge? (all going well!)

will the fingers extensions need to be removed when its merged or will the installer take care of that?

& maybe a option to make the "Groove Tool" window dockable?

Yes, it will work on OSX.

Good idea, we'll make the installer take care of uninstalling the old version.

Probably quite easy, we'll look at this after the merge is complete.

let's see the code but from the few discussions I had with fingers over here, he's pretty much into chunk processing and there indirectly are HUGE upcoming updates about (btw, one of them is discussed right now in the pre-release forum). I'm gonna suffer a bit too..

nothing merged yet, so fingers is the one that can reply to that, subz. Well, about OSX, most probably possible but it depends on his code and depencies (I heard about on external libs while the "only" lib we rely on is WDL)

The SWS Extension installer can take care of that

Tim

thanks for the info!! (OSX users get excited!! )

i did a small bit of helping with beta testing & converted some of the grooves for Fingers,

the groove tool is essential to my work-flow i could not be without it,

if you need any help testing that side of the code i'm more than wiling to help test potentially unstable builds (in V3 & V4)

thanks for your continued joint & single efforts in helping make Reaper that much better!

Not sure of the ETA on getting a build out. There are still issues that need sorting out, plus the OSX side of things may take a while.

I'll probably do a few things from time to time and help support etc. It just makes more sense, with v4 around the corner, for me to merge it as if I am not around to fix a problem then SWS or Jeffos can.

I use MarkerList so much and just now I thought to send this one here, is this functionality possible to be made within MarkerList?

http://forum.cockos.com/project.php?issueid=3154

This will make happy a lot of Sound Designers and Content/Sampler Library Creators out there...

Cheers!
