Default_5_between_dark_and_light
I've created new version of this theme. I've recolored the track background colors, redesign highlighting of the media items and changed colors in piano roll.

old post:
I really like the default theme. But it's too bright for my eyes. And dark version it's too dark. This theme what I tweak is something what suits me more. Maybe somebody find usefull too.
link: https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/2237/D...ReaperThemeZip
main changes:
TCP a MPC: darker then default
Pan knobs: two colors (blue left, orange right) for better seeing in mix
Monitoring button: Blue for better seeing when recording
Mixer Panel: Option to choose from Standart and Session Black, Yellow, Red and Blue Faders in layouts.
and other small tweaks.....
regards

Your custom default(5) interface gets my vote.
The panel colour for unselected channel strips is just right.
I like your pan graphic work.
Coloured metal fader caps look cool(cold,as metal should be).
Neat!

When you next feel like working on D5BDAL please consider a subtle recolour/tweak to *record monitor On/Auto switch*, it would make the difference between the two *on* states more obvious.
Thanks for the update.

Next mission is the new separator layout in TCP and the new record monitor switch in both version. What do you thing? Keep both version or just keep fokus on the grey version?

unfortunately I did not think about create dark version. I prefer shades of gray.
Try this. Maybe you will like it. I'm using it when I try to create dark music.

I love v1.2 - I took theme file and put it as colors for my personal mod of the default theme - a few tweaks and it works great. Enables me to switch between default and grey default - awesome to reset the eyes and perception. I like to start with default - grey is too hard immediately, but as the music goes on, I find switching to grey version does something, no idea what, but it makes wonders xd
Can we donate to you somehow for the work you do?

There is no need. I like to share it with a great community of people around the Reaper

Play with these settings under Action - > Theme development
Window list background = 60, 60, 60 for example (R, G, B)
Window list selected row = 34, 34, 34 (R, G, B)

That's exactly why I like this theme - perfect combination of light and dark elements. You still get the dark but you don't over saturate your vision with the dark only. I only changed MIDI editor out of bounds colors to a little lighter colors so it matches the rest of the midi editor

Thanks for sharing. Default theme was throughly thought out it seems. No other comes close (not even Imperial works that great visually, even though I love its looks, when working with it I go back to the Default theme)

When I download this from the stash, I get something that looks like Reaper 4. Looks nothing like what is pictured here.
What am I doing wrong?

Just download the file and open it. The Reaper will automatically open with this and switch to new theme.
