Default Docked MIDI Editor - Replace Previous, please

Hey, Justin.

I dock all sorts of windows on my secondary monitor including the FX chain and the MIDI editor.

When i'm done viewing the FX chain for one track and am ready to view another, i can click the FX button of the new track, and the fX chain tab drops the old track and displays the new.

handy...

With the MIDI editor, tho', the Docker keeps opening new tabs. They accumulate and get pretty messy.

Seems like the Docker should treat these two features the same way. Doable?

yeah, already discussed several times. it shouldn't replace the previous editor. instead all midi-items should get opened in the same editor window (optional). this also should/would work for normal (undocked) editor ...

so you doubleclick a item => editor shows it

Yeah - restricting to 1 MIDI editor window in the docker could be useful because things do get a bit jumbled with lots of them, but there *are* times when I can see myself wanting to have different items open simultaneously to move MIDI between them easily.

Yes.
That's right it can get messy when you have 10+ midi editors opened on a single screen...
