Lovely song, and well played and mixed to my amateur ears.
Loved the chord sequence.
Would like to hear some muted trumpet in it but I admit to being a tad fixated on them ....
Keep em coming
Another beautiful creation Dzirka! Indeed it brought both joy and pleasure...along with just a hint of jealousy for your creative musical talents. Thank you for sharing!
With just a touch of Latin jazz feel, which I have a pretty strong affinity for. I think you can probably guess how much I liked this beginning to end.
WOW WOW WOW WOW. Thats gotta be one of the best if not the best song i ever heard. u did this on reaper? did u play all the instruments?
it is technically and artistically like, i dont want to dis anyone else cuz i like listening to everyones stuff, but i was gonna say: without rival.
thats like scary good. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you so much. I only noticed this comment today. Yes, the whole song is completely done in Reaper. I recorded all the instruments. I programmed the drums. I originally wanted to record live drums, but didn't have the resources.
I listen to loads of songs from (presumably) unsigned people on the web and it's rare that I don't find something that I find interesting or clever in any of them, even if I don't like the song. That said, I can honestly say that I have never heard a song as perfectly written, arranged, played/programmed, sung, recorded and mixed as this 'Blue Umbrella'. If you hadn't previously written that the drums are programmed I would have sworn that it was a real drummer playing, and a good drummer at that. Even the video is good.
I know I'm going to spend the rest of the day looking for anything else you've posted. Thanks for sharing.
Great mix! And more over, great recordings!
Upright bass? Maybe that is where it needs more attention, but not really crucial... just my bias towards bass emphasis.
