Default Theme rename changes everything?

I'm trying to change the VU meter colors in the Default_6.0 theme. I read the post here on the topic. However, when I change (even just) the name after unzipping...it changes it to Classic_1.x

What you describe sounds like the theme is just losing its connection to its resource folder, which is easy to avoid. Can I ask what post you are following?

If you follow Step One HERE you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm having the same issue. I use the default theme (Default_6.0), and when I unpack the theme file, make changes to source & recompress, it reverts everything to Default 1.x.

I've even unpacked/compressed without making any changes, and it does the same thing. Very odd.

The link you provided on rtconfig.txt, I couldn't make head nor tail of it.

FYI You don't need to recompress a theme to use it; just leave it unpacked. .ReaperThemeZip is a distribution format.

Somewhere in the steps of what you are doing, something is going wrong. Most likely your zip program extracting into a folder without being asked to, but its impossible to say without much more information.

Thanks, yes, this is exactly what it was doing.

There still seems to be a glitch though. I am now using the unpacked theme, and while it's not reverting to Default_1.x, there are some minor differences from the packed version. Not the end of the world though.

Hmm that's not how it works, zipping a theme can't change it appearance, so I'd advise you keep a cautious eye on this possibly tripping you up later, because it will be something else.
