Default unwanted .wavs

How do I keep REAPER from saving my discarded .wavs? I used to know how to do this in SONAR, but am fairly new to REAPER. So far, I love it, and for the most part it's very intuitive. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've got tons of .wav files in my folder, and don't know which ones are keepers or not.

I created a custom action that saves a project, then cleans the current project directory.

Save me (custom action name)

Transport: Pause
Action: Wait one second before next action
Action: Wait one second before next action
File: Save project
File: Clean current project directory

This should work so long as each project is kept in its own directory. The clean directory brings up a window containing a list of the files not used in the project and you can delete which ones you want. Good luck
