Two other ways to be Logic...
CLogic is in the stash, as my own way to see a 'Logic like' theme. Another one ? Yes, because I actually like how the Logic UI is done and I thought that it could be a good base for an all purpose basic Reaper theme. So, as I wanted it to be as close to my tastes as possible, I built my own from scratch. To be honest, I was also missing the theming process, even if it sometimes it can get on my nerves... This theme is rather basic (at the opposite of my CubicPacks...) ; I just made few layouts (including a VCA/Group one) to keep it as sober as possible but I also thought that developing this one would be a good occasion to get a little experimental in three directions and these have actually been my main motivation to achieve this work :
1) The transport bar : I wanted it to be redimensionable with its controls moving accordingly, this with all the transport bar options fully working.
2) The way Logic seems to display folders is interesting, and I was wondering if I could get something more or less similar with Reaper theming features. I'm not sure of it, as I don't have access to a Logic based DAW ; I did my work with the help of different screenshots I could gather here and there.
3) Same thing for the toolbars : I wanted to see to which extent we can implement toolbar icons of different shapes to make them as 'Logic like' as possible. Just a note here about the Toolbar1 : it has been dimensioned to work on my 1920 x 1200 pixels monitor. From which, adjustments will probably be need on it (by adding or removing separators) if your monitor resolution doesn't match mine.
At the end, here is the result. In the zip file, I just put the ReaperThemeZip file and the four toolbars designed to work with it, which should be put in the \MenuSets folder of your Reaper installation, then loaded in the Customize menus/toolbars window.
EDIT : Since 9th may 2018, there is also another theme available : FLogic, which is similar to the most recent versions of the model (10.3 and over...) : the link is below.
The links :
CLogic : https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1932/CLogic.zip
FLogic : https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/2146/FLogic.zip
Feedback, comments and suggestions welcomed...

I like Logic 10.2.x too...
Still, you've got to take a look at Logic 10.0.4 — unselected notes are not bright at all, and that looks right.
Your unselected notes are too bright, in my opinion.

Hmmm... Seems to me that even the unselected waveforms/notes are quite bright, from what I can see on the official Logic site which shows the most recent 'Ableton like' UI (which is not a progress, IMO, but it's another debate...). Beside this, I cannot play that much on the brightness, as I have to take account of the wide range of possible item backgound colors.
What I'll do for a next update, though, is to boost the selected item peaks brightness to widen the difference between selected and unselected items. Can't do much more than that, I'm afraid...

Thanks to you both !
About how long it takes, I started this one nearly two months ago (around last 15th december, if I remember well) but I didn't work on it eight hours a day : three are probably much closer to the actual time spent...

Thanks for this cool theme!!
The bottom of the master track is lower than the other tracks. Is that deliberate?

@Diego and Plazma - Thanks !
About the master track, I'm not sure that I understood. If you talk about what is shown in the screenshot, it's the normal behavior for the master track when the mixer window isn't wide enough to display all the tracks of a project. IMO, it's one of Reaper UI weaknesses that would really need a fix, but well, we have to do with it, presently, no matter the theme used.

Hi, vanhaze
Looking more closely at your screenshot, it looks like if the trans.status control, and only this one, was shrinked to nearly half its normal width, which should be normally 360 pixels.
I'm completely unable to reproduce that one and I think that I tried everything possible : docking/undocking, different tranport bar positions, show/hide time signature, centre/uncenter transport controls... Everything works normally, here. So, few questions :
- Does this appear when the transport bar is in a 'floating' state (IOW, when not placed at top of main window) ?
- Are you still able to edit the bpm, rate and signature values ?
- What screen resolution are you using ?
- Is there a Retina setting that could go in the way ? I'm absolutely unable to test this on a system such as yours, sadly...
Let me know any added information about this. Thanks !
EDIT - With further examination, it seems that the trans.status control on your screenshot is indeed 360 pixels width but with... 95 pixels high instead of the expected 48. So, I suspect a Retina scaling problem. What I don't get, though, is that it should also affect the other controls, and it doesn't seem so. I'm rather lost, I admit...

Many thanks for your help !
On my macbook retina, i can set an application to run it in low resolution.
No idea what exact resolution that is, but by doing this for Reaper,
i got rid of the blue garbling in Transport Bar when i use CLogic Theme.
However, BPM field can't be changed.
Also, Transport state text is not how it seems to be i think ..
Your Theme is not only Theme that has gui problems on my macbook retina.
I experience various GUI issues with other Themes, making me wonder
why the h*ll i bought a macbook retina in the first place

It's better but not perfect, far from it... Sorry for the inconvenience.
Beside this, I must admit that the trans.bpm control is rather convoluted as I had to use it also as a background for the other trans.rate and trans.curtimesig controls, this with having to fiddle with its margins.
This was mandatory to keep all these visually in a solid block, as theming doesn't allow independent backgrounds for each of them. The result is that, to edit it, you have to click rather on the top or bottom right of the control, instead of clicking directly on its value.

I am totally stunned. Although I don't like themes which are on the dark side this one is so impressive well designed and layed out that I honestly think about giving up my mod development. A masterpiece!

Yeah. Will do it. Maybe yours is one of the biggest inspiration regarding layout of TCP and stuff. Have to sleep about it.
Do you think about a less darker edition?

The problem is that Logic has a inextricably 'dark side' which makes its own character. But why not ? Presently, I'm still in a debugging stage. After this, I might consider it, as it will be more easy to maintain different flavors of it...

The track name background.
I would like to have the background of the track number colored as in your screenshot... but if I assign color to my TCP panel all I have is the track name background colored.

I would love to "review" it in detail but ATM I am not sure what the design goal is. Is Logic just the inspiration and you move on as something like a starting point or will you avoid any changes that would lead away from Logic?

@Diego
Just saw your answer. I was about to point you to the Preferences/Appearance/Track Control panel settings yesterday, but I wanted to be sure about it. Glad that you got it solved.
@Luster
No, it will stay more or less like it is presently. I'm preparing an update that will straighten up some visual things (among others, the main toolbar background which is really not as I expected, some toolbar icons that look too much as Cubase ones, things like that...). If you have any other suggestions, feel free to state them now : it's the right moment.

A pity. ;-)
Ok. Two little nitpicks:
The active tab (multiple projects open e.g.) is hardly readable.
The dark area of the pan knobs in the MCP are (at least for me) too dark. Generates too much useless contrast to the rest of the elements in the mixer.
The I/O panel is a beauty - smart idea.
Also the design of the send levels. Wow. One can't do much in this little area but here you are.

Good catch... I'll try to dim a little the brightness of its background.

You mean the black circle surrounding the knob itself ? Indeed, I colored it with a RGB 27/27/27 tint and saw on different screenshots of the model that it's actually more like RGB 40/40/40. Will fix that also.

With tinted track panel backgrounds:
Two colors for each track. I don't know why... and I don't mind, actually.
Not tinted:
The lower color is now the upper one (in the Mixer view)... Still don't mind.
I do like the single row track panel view.
But I think it could do without the button to the right of the I-button (record source or mode).
Because all it has to offer is already included in the right-click menu of the R-button:
And I think the Pan and Volume knobs should be present in the single row track panel view.
(Otherwise there's nothing you can click on to open the Sends, Receives and Hardware Output Options window,
which opens with the right click on the Volume knob
(and therefore doesn't really need a dedicated (I/O or Routing) button.
And the Pan and Volume knobs are informative by themselves.)
And the track name area could be shorter by a third (resizable).
P. S.
Yellow folders (New project... and Open Project... buttons, see the first image) are Windows-looking. (And Logic X is not a Windows program.)
So, maybe use the default buttons instead?

Hi again, AugerJ, and thanks for the report.
About your two first screenshots, it's a bug from me. I set the mcp.label with a height of 20 pixels, as the place let in the bottom for it has a 33 pixels one. The result is that we indeed see the label 'panel' divided vertically when the Set track label background to custom track colors option is activated, as this one adds a supplementary layer of color over the label. It's totally invisible when this option is not set and I actually never use it, that's why it went over my radar. I found a fix that will be in the update I'm preparing.
I have more problems with your other suggestions...
1) I really like the tcp.recmode control to be as much visible as possible, as it gives an immediate view about how the track is set for recording and this is especially useful when you are using, as me, multioutputs VSTis. So, sorry, but I think I'm going to let it as it is, at least for a while.
2) I'm going to see if I can put the volume control on the right of the existing ones. The problem is that for me, the different controls here are essential for me when, in example, I start a recording. I need these to be in view, even if the track has only one row visible. I'll see what I can do about it. Beside this, the pan knob is too big for a one row view. Maybe I can put a slider instead or little knob but where to put it ? On the right of an eventual volume fader ? This would need us to widen the tcp area to something like 400 pixels...
3) About the pan and volume knob being informative enough in the 'Routing' window, the values displayed here are not themable. I can't get rid of it, even if I wanted.
4) I had thought about reducing the tcp.label size but this will need to process again the coordinates of several other controls in the tcp panel. I'll probably do it at some point but not in the update I'm preparing.
Thanks again for the debugging help !

v1.10 update...
The first CLogic update is in the stash, with the same name and location. Essentially, I made changes concerning different visual issues.
- Fixed : a bug which was making the mcp panel area, where label and track numer are displayed, divided vertically in two slightly different tints when the Set track panel background to custom track colors option was activated in the preferences. This was due to a wrong sizing of the mcp.label control.
- Improved : the tcp management.
When the track has one row height, I reduced the label width of 15 pixels (AugerJ was objectively right on this...), this, to allow to put the volume fader on the right of the already existing controls.
When the vertical track size is higher, I changed the behavior of pan/width control which are now moving horizontally on a wide range of track panel width, this, to allow the display of more controls in the second row.
- Changed : the background of the main toolbar. It no longer looks as if it was in a black hole...
- Changed : several toolbar icons which are now more in accordance to the model.
To users of the first version : I changed also few things in the toolbars. So, it's better to replace the original .ReaperMenu files with the ones bundled in this update.
Let me know if everything works as expected.

Great. Thanks.
Haven't really tried it yet,
but I think this width will work:
(Each track is one row high, and the second row (for pan and volume controls) is one shortcut away...)

Fine, AugerJ. Keep on testing it, if you have time.
Beside this, I just found another one (grrrr... ). Obviously I haven't paid attention enough of the tcp.fxparm controls behavior with my last update. The problem is this one : when we are in a trackpanmode>4 (Stereo pan or Dual pan) and if we widen the tcp panel over 440 pixels, the fxparms area can recover partially the width control if there are enough of parameters involved.
I'll definitely fix this one in a next update but, for who are rather at ease unzipping a theme and editing the included rtconfig.txt file, the solution is the following. Replace the line #90 in it :
set tcp.fxparm trackpanmode<5 w<440 [43 83 238 20 0 0 1 1] [43 54 238 40 0 0 1 1] w<440 [43 83 208 20 0 0 1 1] [43 54 208 40 0 0 1 1]
...by this one :
set tcp.fxparm trackpanmode<5 w<440 [43 83 238 20 0 0 1 1] [43 54 238 52 0 0 1 1] w<440 [43 83 208 20 0 0 1 1] [43 54 368 52 0 0 0 1]
These corrections concern both the fix for the issue and an optimization of the tcp.fxparm vertical redimensioning. Sorry for this...

v 1.20 update...
The second update is in the stash. Several things concerned :
- Fixed : the bug described above in the post #35.
- Changed : The VCA/Group layouts - No longer useless extended mixer area for them, and their behavior have been optimized in the arrangement window.
- Changed : I swapped the mcp.recarm and mcp.recmode positions in the mixer, in compliance to the model.
- Other TCP optimizations... + The behavior of the pan/width controls : the pan no longer disappear when the width one does for trackpanmode>4 (stereo and dual pan). I just let the first one with a yellow colored label as a reminder that another hidden control is involved.
+ I paid more attention to the two "Sober" layouts which now behave on their own and not as if the hidden controls were still there.
+ Few more optimizations here and there.
- Few more cosmetic changes : mcp.sendlist knob, track/mcp.mono control, mcp.pan/width background...
I think I'm almost done with this theme, unless something is still misbehaving. I'll keep on maintaining in, just in case some true theming improvements happen in a more or less near future : I no longer expect it, but well...
Just hope that this one will be useful for some of you.

Thanks, cubic13 !
I have some questions regarding the top panel (transport etc). If I may.
If you click on the "1.1.00" ... spot:
If you click on the "4/4" spot:
If you click on the "1.0" spot:
And if you click on the "120" spot (the tempo value) — nothing.
But if you click on "bpm" (or "rate", or "signature"... the lower part of that segment):
Can this (last) behavior be changed, so it will be more like the behavior in the previous examples?
The second question
In my case the main REAPER window is usually about 1100 pixels wide.
As you can see, the BPM button and the tempo, rate and time signature elements are gone.
I don't know programming.
I guessed and changed some parameters in the rtconfig file.
(Don't mind the height difference, it's not essential.
Probably I'll stick with the original height, anyway.)
All the elements I need to start working on a new project are present.
But I'm sure I've made it the wrong way, it's not optimized...
The right corners of the BPM button aren't rounded.
So, could you make a version of this theme, in which these elements wouldn't disappear from the shrunk window
and the gap between the elements (and between the left window border and the first element)
could get as small as 2 pixels?
( And if the loooooong word "Selection" was in the upper row
(and selection start, end and length values — in the lower one) in that segment,
the Global automation override button might be present in the shrunk window too...
If not, let it hide, but not the BPM button and not the bpm, rate and signature elements. )
P. S.
Thanks anyway.

Hi, AugerJ
My answers are going to be more or less deceiving...
1) About the trans.bpm, sadly, I can't change this. As I was explaining it at vanhaze in post #17, the reason is that I had to use this control also as a background for the trans.rate and trans.curtimesig ones, otherwise I couldn't make them appear in the status block if I wanted them to be movable with the redimensioning of the transport bar. This is a theming limitation : neither there is a trans_rate_bg.png usable, nor a trans_curtsig_bg.png one. It's not a problem if the controls have fixed coordinates in the transport bar (iow, when the controls are not supposed to move in it). The problem arise when, as me, you want to have movable ones.
2) The Walter code of the transport bar is horribly complicated as I had to find a way to both, make the transport bar redimensionable with moving controls in it, and have all the transport bar options working. You have seen the result in the rtconfig.txt. So, maybe I took the whole thing on the wrong side but it seems to work in all case, at the expense of the disappearing controls in certain range of transport bar width. A quick math :
trans_buttons_width = 310 pixels
trans_status_width = 360 pixels
trans_bpm_width = 147 (with the time signature shown) pixels
trans_tap_automode_width = 115 pixels
trans_sel-fader_width = 232 pixels
The sum of all these : 1164 pixels.
I wanted the transport bar to be shrinkable down to a 1050 pixels width so, inevitably, I had to make some controls disappear at a point and choosed the ones I use the less : the time signature and the tap controls, first, then the bpm and rate ones. I had to do so in order to have a transport bar correctly displayed in all cases.
Now, maybe I made bad choices and should have hidden other controls. I'll see if I can add a transport bar layout more in accordance with what you are asking. It will take a while though, as the 'Selection' word is here by default and a lot of calculation will be need to optimize the gaps between the different control blocks in all cases (center/uncenter, time signature and/or rate fader hidden/unhidden...). Completely unable to tell you how long it would take...

The ReaperMenus make this theme stand on its own league, it makes feel Reaper from the get go more like a DAW. I wish other great themes would get updated with those menus, the images for those menus make the theme more alive. Now when I switch to other themes, those menus just have written text, which is a bummer, because your layout for those 2 menus again makes Reaper look properly to my eyes (toolbar 1 and having Main tool bar at the top makes it feel so good and intuitive) I didn't even know Regions were implemented somewhere in Reapers' career, lol, along with Markers makes it look visually again more intuitive. I feel at least my perspective is having to go to the Windows REaper main menu to do any action is just so annoying (yes you could learn shortcuts like ALT + B for the Virtual midi keyboard, i.e.) but having those menus when you don't know every shortcut and stuff is a great addition to the themes (I know, maybe this has already been implemented in some other themes, specially the paid ones? idk). Also FOLDERS indent in this theme is sooo damn good. It's aesthetically nothing futuristic or mind blowing but it works like a charm. Coloring tracks is great too. Maybe those logic guys found out a great simple gui and you brought it up to us windows guys. Even the midi REaperMenu is so cool... damn... in a way I feel finally I got back to using Cubase but with a different look, I don't know if you get what I am saying with this statement (I think you'd do).
Even other themes, even with some images change to written text, they stand out more now and feel more alive too. Lol.
