Media item bottom half context & selection bug?

Using "Item: Select item under mouse cursor (leaving other items selected)" doesn't seem to work in the bottom half context. It always unselects everything except the last clicked-on item.

Actually it doesn't work even in the main Media Item context apparently.

The selection happens before the action is evaluated, even if the action is a selection itself. This is evident if you set up "Item: Toggle selection of item under mouse cursor" as one of the Media item modifiers. The item is selected on down-click, and immediately unselected when you release the button as the toggle select action is executed.

Maybe this logic could be improved? I'm trying to create a Pro Tools -like selection action, so I could shift+click to add items to selection and extend the time selection to them at the same time.

oops there's a default action for that... "Add a range of items to selection and set time selection to selected items"

Looks like most of the use cases are covered with the built-in actions fortunately. Better custom action selection logic would probably require the modifier action to be evaluated already on mouse down, but that would likely introduce other obstacles.
