Default Fx pin settings for LUFS measurements?

I'm using klangfreund lufs meter and I'm not sure if I should just let the pin connectors to their default regarding my mono tracks.

I got this from their support:

"With mono tracks you have to be careful in Reaper, because as far as I understand, Reaper always uses stereo plugin instances on mono tracks. So a mono signal gets fed into the LUFS Meter on the left as well as on the right channel. This gives a loudness measurement that is 3 LU too high. To get a correct measurement, use the ‘Plugin connector’ (The ‘2 in 2 out’ button on the top right of a plugin window) and disconnect one channel for the LUFS Meter."

But how can I do this without messing with the panning? I cant find a way to turn off one Pin connector and still hear it in the centre.

I may be wrong but when I turn on and off one of those plugin connectors, The volume/loudness is the same. Is Reaper compensating to keep the same volume/loudness whether you use 2 Pin connectors or one? Is that possible?

Listening to mono sources in a mono environment can only be listened in one speaker. But who works with one speaker only? If you want to listen to it in the center as you say, in the center of what? Of two speakers? Then you are working in stereo. Which means that, yes the mono source will be listened in two speakers and then the power will double. Nothing wrong with it. I think LUFS meters work only in stereo or surround modes, not mono.

try the Youlean loudness meter...it has the option to choose mono or stereo.

edit:
ok, it's pretty simple with pins...1 in, 2 out

For the sake of learning purposes, the reason I'm using klangfreund LUFS is to use it to adjust loudness along while I'm mixing in the early stages, i.e. fader up mix.

Anywyay, I just want to be meticulous while I'm trying to understand this loudness normalization stuff but, the problem is that I cant be sure as to what exactly is going on at the FX window with LUFS measurements.

^Yes-that is possible, via settings i guess-- pin routing in reaper can be tricky because 1 can be 2,2 can be 1,or 1 can be 3 or more--anywhich way really-- you can defo double up on,or sum signals--but traditionally everything was or is mono, left.
Right is just a left if you want it to be that way-
There is a good reason to be mindfull and meticulous about these things in regards to routings+outputs obviously.
You may be 'seeing + listening' totally in mono in reaper--but is your hardware interface 1 or 2 channels that are summing/mixing or rarely just 1 channel..is more a final question.
You can play a stereo file over 1 speaker,or 2 for seperations of channels (depends on wether you actually have 2 speakers wired up) -- or a summed mono mix over 1,or 2 speakers,,or more...w/e.
Keep asking questions--1 day you may get a suitable answer ...from someone...

Well, I purchased Katz's K-Meter yesterday, I've been reading stuff, studying Mike Senior's Mixing Secrets book, Nicholas's ReaMix book, etc... I'll get somewhere soon hoppefully.
