ReaTune Wazzup /w ver5.50 ???

Hey

Did they change ReaTune? Or should I say, it's not working like it used to, OR what am I doing wrong?

In the former version, pre-5.50, I was happy with ReaTune - the manual mode was working for me, more or less, as expected.

But, since I changed to version 5.50:

1) I no longer have the algorithms - elastic, pro, etc., but have only two things: Soundtouch and Simpled Windowed (fast)

2) For Soundtouch I have High Quality and Fast, and for Simpled Windowed I have a bunch of parameter settings that deal with ms windows and ms fades. What is the best setting?

Soundtouch seems to add random clicks and pops...

Simpled Windowed, depending on the parameters I choose (what the heck is an ms window and ms fade?) gives me either weird pitch shifts or/and something that sounds like REVERB. I kid you not... It add reverb to the track!!!


What is going on here? It was working great for me, but now I'm frustrated and can't seem to figure out what is the problem.

Does anything have to do with my other project settings; 48000 hz, Asio4all 24bit, block 500, ...?


Anyone notice these changes and know what's going on, what I'm doing wrong, assuming it's not a bug in version5.50?

don't think anything changed in 5.50 but it did have a big change in 5.51

Maybe Elastique option was unchecked in the installer?



Don't use soundtouch or simple windowed for reatune. They can work for special effects in ReaPitch but they're definitely not as clean as you'd want.

Do I need to reinstall, or can I do it in settings?

just get the 5.52 installer and check all the boxes. (I'm assuming Windows here, Mac version doesn't have any install options)
