How to change vst instrument presets without opening vst
Is there a quicker way of selecting presets of a vst than pressing fx on the channel strip and scrolling in the vst interface? On another popular daw there was a box on the channel strip that allowed you to quickly scroll through presets.

You might want to take a look at SWS LiveConfigs.

SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for FX 2 of selected tracks
SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for FX 3 of selected tracks
SWS/S&M: Trigger next preset for FX 4 of selected tracks
and
SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX 1 of selected tracks
SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX 2 of selected tracks
SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX 3 of selected tracks
SWS/S&M: Trigger previous preset for FX 4 of selected tracks
is this what you are looking for?
i 'll have to find a way to use this without having to select a track. (keep trace of what selected, select in background the track i know the name, do the change, select previous selected tracks.

You can use ReaScript for stuff like that:
Code:
-- Trigger preset for FX 1 on track under mouse pointer
trig = 1 -- trig=1 trigger next preset, trig = -1 trigger previous preset
FX = 1
function main()
reaper.BR_GetMouseCursorContext()
tr = reaper.BR_GetMouseCursorContext_Track() if not tr then return end
reaper.TrackFX_NavigatePresets( tr, FX-1, trig )
end
main()

A script could even pop up a menu of all the listed presets, I think.
