Keep on making great themes! There are many good looking out there, but I can use your themes every day without getting dizzy.
Thanks.

You can set the color of loop points in the theme tweak window (search for it in the action list):

Timeline Background (In loop points)

Jut resave the theme and youre done.

Found an issue: In narrow mixer mode the "FX On/Off" button is just "show fx window".

Default scrollbar

Thanks for another fine theme. I would like to know if anyone else also has problems to see the scrollbar? Or is it just me? Otherwise I like the theme very much.

Now that you mentioned, yes, it's well hidden. I wish I could get rid of them since they just waste screen space for me.

Thanks you for doing something with the MIDI editor. Best MIDI editor I've seen so far.

Personally, the colours are a little too muted, but it has a unified look that I do really like.

Might you consider an Orange Auto-record arm button for easier detection?

Thanks again

Yet another quality theme from Janne!

It does have the "way too muted" look of most of his themes but the layout and graphics are awesome. I always end up adding a bit of contrast to things but as a good tweak-starting-template this is excellent!

@Janne: Is it possible that your display is a bit over saturated? Could this be why your themes sometimes lack contrast and have quite muted colors or is it just a preference?

Anyhow, thanks for the theme!

I'm looking at REAPER on my routinely calibrated work screen and the overall interface contrast is really perfectly spot on in this theme, it's the main reason I think this theme is the best one for REAPER.

The arrangement view I did brighten up, and the panel colours are super muted, I agree, but the panel png are very simple and was easy to replace them with more transparent ones.

I can share these alternative TCP and MCP backgrounds if it's ok to Janne.

It's really fantastic that I can postpone making my own theme, or just forget about it, it wasn't really an option until Janne released this one.

Cool, I'm not sharing the whole tweaked theme since I don't find it an improvement as such, just a tweak of it to better suit my preferences and workflow- but here are brighter (more transparent) versions of TCP and MCP backgrounds, with really bright (lighter shade of grey and more transparent) selected versions.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...brigherCPs.zip

Make a backup of the original files first, so you can compare and revert if you prefer the original.

Trying it out right now. It takes some getting used to not having the default theme around, but I definitely like what I see.

Thank you very much for your time and dedication!

I am having a hard time implementing your png files ... :

I am on OSX.
I decrompress the Janne reaper theme file and replace the .png files with the .png files you provide.
I re-compress the Janne reaper theme file and import it into Reaper.
I get a totally wasted GUI, which doesn't look anymore at all as Janne's Theme

Could be very true that i am doing something wrong / missing something...

Here's a maybe better way:

Make a copy of the theme, rename it, unpack it. Choose that theme in Reaper and open theme editor and choose the unpacked folder as the image source, save. Now you have the original intact, and a copy with unpacked images that you can fool around with.

Sound to me like the theme doesnt find the correct image folder.
1. when you decompress you get two items- an image folder and .reapertheme file

2. when compressing back make sure that both items are included.

3. make sure the compresse file has .ReaperThemeZip extension (rename it)

If that still doesnt work open Theme weak window (youll find it in actions) and check to which image folder the theme is pointing at (make sure that this theme is loaded)

Thanks Noise_construct! I had problems loading old sessions whit this wonderful theme otherwise, the shades of similar colors where almost indistinguishable for me here (and think i'm gonna edit your .png's to get a little brighter color indeed...).
Other thing, a little mod i want to do, but i had no clue where to look... i'm in the process of understanding coding or pseudo-coding in various languages (lua, python, html, css, java...) and diving in the walter stuff is to much for me right now, but i'm not clueless about this kind of things, only clueless about walter, so, if you jane, or some kind soul can point me in the right direction, i'll be really grateful. The thing is...

This is the jane's tcp with three lines.

And this is with two lines.

And i want the tcp like below with two lines, really miss the pan because i'm a poor bastard whit a 15 inches tube monitor. Really need this so i can see more tracks in my shity display.

Where i have to look to accomplish this?
Thanks again, and in advance!!

That would be useful, yes. I could use that too, and I also want to get rid of the phase knob (why is it in the TCP anyway?), so I started looking into the walter.

Code:
set tcp.volume h<48 [0] h<72 w<250 [2 24 24 24 0 0 0 0] [4 27 118 18 0 0 1 0] [4 27 140 18 0 0 1 0]
set tcp.volume.label h<48 [0] h<72 w<250 [27 27 41 18 0 0 0 0] [121 27 35 18 1 0 1 0] [143 27 35 18 1 0 1 0]
set tcp.volume.label.color [157 157 157]
set tcp.volume.label.margin [2 0 2 0 0.5]

set tcp.pan h<48 [0] w<238 [0] h<72 [156 24 24 24 1 0 1 0] [2 48 24 24 0 0 0 0]
set tcp.pan.fadermode [1]
set tcp.pan.label h<72 [0] [27 51 41 18 0 0 0 0]
set tcp.pan.label.color [157 157 157]
set tcp.pan.label.margin [2 0 2 0 0.5]
This does seem to work (mind you it's my first go at tweaking Walter without the macros in default theme), so no guarantees.

I changed mine so that pan replaces the phase button at two row heights.

EDIT: it needs a bit more work to fold nicely at narrower TCP widths. EDIT: now pan is hidden when TCP is narrow.

I just changed the extension of the theme to Zip, opened in WinRAR, overwrote the existing files and changed the extension back. All good

I did the very same thang, but then on mac.

Wonder if this is a mac issue ..
I remember from the past that i also didn't succed in altering another Theme by replacing some .png files.

Always ended up with a totally wasted Theme after i imported it in Reaper ..

Thanks noise_construct!! Just what i wanted, works perfectly!! How do you did to learn walter so quickly? (at least that bit necessary to modify things), because at first sight don't understand anything in your modifications. I had to read all the walter_themers_guide.pdf from white tie, or you found a quickest way for small things? I mean, some post with key concepts or something...
I don't mind to read and learn, but really i don't have much time lately.
Thanks man!!

Awesome!

I had to read the coordinates part from the pdf, but imo that's the only part not so immediately obvious. I mean the element names are human-readable, and the walter structure itself is very simple.

Positioning also looks more complicated than it is with all the digits, in the end the it is quite similar to CSS with floats (but actually better). You define relative position (from parent edges), size and then which side streches and which stays put.

I love this theme and it's currently my default. However, as some others have stated in this thread, I have a minor problem with the folder indents not being visible enough so that I sometimes find it hard to see what tracks are inside a folder.

I made a quick fix so that it looks like this:

It's probably not perfect, but works for me as I rarely have more than 2 subfolders. Made it available for download in case you'd like to use it yourself, the zip-file contains new folder PNG's and an updated rtconfig.txt:

I decided I wanted some colours in my life and did some tweaks to the panels and icons, and imported the awesome Solarized colour scheme:

It's still a wip, but I quite like how the track colours work here and might release the whole modded theme later after all.

(ignore the fake project used for the screenshot, no time to make music when there's themes to tweak )

That looks good! So, in your tweak the selected track gets full color on the track / mixer panel? Interesting idea!

What's the Solarized color scheme?

I'm working on finishing up my personal tweaks to the V5 default theme (WALTER + images).... Once I got my feet wet it was easy (but time consuming...) to customize the theme. I started out small but have changed just about everything.

And, there's no shortage of good ideas to add to my theme tweaks....

Janne has been ahead of the curve for a long time with his designs!

Cheers! Yeah selected track gets a bright colour background, making it very clear what is selected.

Solarized is a scientifically balanced colour scheme for applications, by Ethan Schoonover: http://ethanschoonover.com/solarized. I'm just using the accent colours now for track auto-colouring, but would be interesting to try the whole thing in REAPER. It would probably be the light version since there aren't many light themes.

Tbh I have no idea how to share it but I found an option in the SWS Color Management window that allows saving of files, so here's the file:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...rized.SWSColor

The same window has an import option, action "SWS: Open color management window".

(adding custom colours means just inputting them into the custom color part in color dialog, because I'm lazy I didn't type each number manually but used this instead http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=171663)
