Default EEL: Scripts related to moving stuff by time selection length

(Parent thread: Przemoc's ReaScripts)

Cursor:Item:
Recently I realized I could simplify my workflow a bit. I created 2 scripts initially, but went with a few more variations, to have more flexibility with time selection as a ruler thing. Maybe someone else will find them useful too.

Interesting scripts but not too much usable for me right now.
In my opinion usefull could be snap item to 1bar without change project grid (MOVE to fit in bar)
and
move item LENGTH begin to closest bar and move item LENGTH end to closest bar (again fit but by change length of start and end separately instead of move)
so on:
1 script snaping items to bar to fit item in bar
2 change length of begin of item to fit in closest bar begin
3 change length of end of item to fit in closest bar end

Perfect scripts to fast place items in perfect bars and change their lengths into closest bar edges

Thank you for expanding the editing action toolset. Never know when these come in handy.

Thanks so much for sharing your scripts.

Just having this issue with Move Right by time selection

This seems to happen when the Time Selection length > Time between any 2 items.

In my tests with 3 items, one item won't move, one will move by the correct amount and one will move by 2x the time selection length.

I'll maybe manage to look at it this weekend. Aren't you perhaps using ripple editing mode? That's my quick guess (untested, unverified, just off the top of head idea) for explaining what you see. If so, then I suggest disabling it when running my script.

The bug mentioned by Stroudy should be fixed in the latest version (v1.01) of 3 scripts related to moving item or its left edge to the right.

Default hmmm.....

forgive my ignorance but i'm copying and pasting the edit cursor scripts into new actions but both have resulted in an error from the compiler. unexpected symbol after /

"Move Edit Cursor Right by time selection length.lua:1: unexpected symbol near '/'"

What am I doing wrong?

Use a .eel file extension - these aren't Lua scripts.

Alternatively you can download the actual .eel file by rightclicking the 'Raw' button on the script's GitHub page -> Save link as..

edit:
Actually it seems the repository has been made ReaPack compatible meanwhile
