Set up an animation project template:
Alt+L for grid settings.
check: Show grid, line space.
Set it to Frame.
Right click the ruler and select Absolute Frames.
Alt+Enter to open project settings.
You may want to set timebases to Time.
Under the Video tab, select your desired framerate. For example 24.
Have SWS installed.
Either
Ctrl+P to open properties, Project > Media Item Defaults > uncheck Create auto fade
or
Press ? to open Actions to search and run "remove fade in out" after selecting all pngs.
--
Now that the project is set up:
Drag all pngs to an empty track.
Choose "Single Track"
All pngs should be selected. If you want to select them all, double click the track.
Drag the right edge of any of the items to shorten them to "Length 1"
Press ? to open Actions to search and run "Reposition Selected Items"
Select Item End with a Time interval of 0.
--
A faster method:
Currently the pngs import at a length of 1 second. Divided by 24 frames that's ~ 0.041667.
Press ? to open Actions and click Custom actions: New
Search 3 actions and drag them to the right window in order:
Item: Remove fade in and fade out
Set selected items length...
Reposition selected items...
Name the action. I named it Set Length and Reposition Items.
Check: Consolidate undo points.
Click Ok.
Now if you run the action, you can input the values and they will remain until you close the project.
For example, again at 24 fps, that's a length of 0.041667 and an item end time interval of 0.

You could also concatenate the pngs with ffmpeg very quickly into a video file, but then you'll have an extra video file...
Happy animating!
