Media Explorer feature request suggestions
This is kind of turning into a megathread for Media Explorer. If I should break these suggestions into their own threads, then let me know.
- Ability to define which filetypes show in a particular database. Personally, I'd like to show only .RPP files in one of my databases so I can search existing projects.
- A sorting column (like File, Type, Size, etc...) for "File Path". You can show the path as part of the file name, but this isn't clean and doesn't provide the same sorting options as if it had its own column.
- A list of "recent searches" somewhere in the Media Explorer would be a big win.

- When drag and drop audio files into the project the volume of the media explorer should get transmitted too. (media item volume same as preview volume in media explorer)
- Folder structure in the left panel to get easier into deeper folder levels and back without using the folder up button.
- Replacement of the ugly windows form elements like drop down, columns etc. (Have no idea if this is skinnable.)

Agreed about the preview volume communicating with the mixer volume. I've wanted that for so long.
Other things that could be handy but are probably fantasy:
Midi playable pitch resampling (toggle for timestretch algo or sampler like resampling as well)
This is a bit of a creative one but wouldn't it be cool to be able to add dynamic split points to loops using the Media Explorer interface and then have the option to drag a sample to project already split into sections. These split points are saved to hard disk for recall.

Drag and drop media from the Arrange View and Mixer in Media Explorer to save media such as audio samples, MIDI items, presets, etc.

Possibility to find inside "Genre", "Comment", "BWF Description", etc. with the search tool.
Actually we can only find "File" and "Custom tag".

Whatever happened to the "Comment" field that we used to be able to double click to edit?

The possibility to tag folders and the possibilty to create database from files inside file section. So we would be able to create database which contains exactly what we want. If I want "snare" database, I make a search files with "snare", and from files results, I create a new data base named "snare".

+1 for defining file types. They have 'show all files' when you search your directories, but I wish something like that could be extended to the databases.
