tempo markers seem totally eff'd. Just for me?
new project (120 bpm)
insert tempo change at bar 5 to 90BPM
I get a tempo change at bar 26, another for 120 bpm at 136.1.516129 and I can't scroll to bar 1 anymore, it's stuck at 11.3.8
Serious WTF !
edit - no problem in 5.60, change at bar 5 goes to correct place, with additional marker at bar 1 with original project tempo

This was happening in pre 8 so I made a new portable install for 9. This gif is using pre 9. Wanted to try the new non-tempo time sigs.
Windows 7 x64
I think I used shift+c for the time sig and shift click on the envelope for the tempo points

Can't reproduce, even if I download 5.65pre9 from landoleet. How are you inserting the tempo change?

trying again portable, not as bad but not right.

Can replicate this if I bring my usual reaper.ini into the portable folder.

it happened several times in a row when I first installed 5.65pre9, I should have captured video of the bug before I reverted.
Here's what I've got on my main config now.

BTW, why is "gradually transition" always on by default?

Yes, this is not right. It should remember last clicked state in reaper.ini, methinks.

Thanks. The themeable colors makes a big difference.

Right-clicking on the Master Track inserts crashes REAPER. Fully reproducible here on Mac (Sierra)

That was fast. Opened same project, put points back on grid and seems to work.

Yep, does it on regular track insert slots too here. Only over the FX slots though, if only Send inserts visible, it works normal. This on Win10 x64 here.

No crash right clicking inserts. Win7 x64.
I can't put in non-tempo time sig on sloping tempo ramp. Disables previous points "gradually..." box to unchecked. (Tested on pre9b only.)
Or edit the previous point's "gradually..." box to checked from unchecked after the time sig is already there. Dialog allows checking it, but nothing happens when clicking [OK]. (tested on both 9a and 9b.)

I had the same problem and when that would happen the video I have (timebase set to time and locked) would get timestretched

Fantastic!
One problem: There appears to be some interaction between the notation background color and the brightness/thickness/alpha(?) of the grid lines, so that the darker the background, the brighter and bolder the grid lines. If the background is set to black or dark grey (as I assume many users would do), the grid lines become bright white and either indistinguishable from or more prominent than the measure lines.
EDIT: Example:

I apologize for the annoyance, but the problem with tempo markers during ripple edit did not go away... (

I know REAPER has it’s own “priorities”, but please take a look at this…
When copying a region with tempo map present tempo markers do not stay synced to the grid

And it should be so easy to fix! My own little "Insert empty beats" script can properly preserve the tempo envelope -- even when inserting into linear segments -- so surely Regions can also manage it:
(The tempo envelope is on top.)

That is by design. Otherwise, three markers in a row become linked in a complex way, so that editing any one of them also edits at least one of the other two.

Thanks!
But I don't get it.
Going to have to think about how these are going to be any thing but a slight improvement when editing marker form of tempo points. I most often use the envelope when I really get into it, but I do double click the marker to get the dialog a lot. It is a bit of a problem that you can't view a higher number track and the master without hiding tracks, but that request to split the arrangement would obviously be a major thing. Maybe a vertical mouse drag on markers to adjust value might come in handy and be easy to implement? Just an idea. I also think an action to toggle tempo only marker visibility would be nice. Things should not snap to them when hidden I think.
And what juliansader is saying now is probably the number one thing that regions need.

I'm not sure if this is related to the region lane updates but it seems like new behavior to me where marker names disappear when zoomed in more closely.
I can still see the red line but I can no longer see the top of the marker where the name is when zooming in to a reasonable level. It only seems to affect the red markers that I created with the SWS action but not the blue custom action marker at the end of the project.
This is a longer session so maybe that plays a role:

Themeable notation editor, finally!
I can confirm what Julian Sader said above, the guide lines are dependent on the other colour assignment in some way. I'd be happy to have independent control over the guide lines.
Also, while this is being looked at, I find myself wishing that the notation editor timeline bar could be coloured, so that I could more easily target it with the mouse. I realized though that the extra visual indication could take away from the impression of working with sheet music, and create a distraction with too much visual weight above each measure. Instead, is it possible that the size of the "timeline" could be enlarged from where it is now? I don't think it's necessary for the timeline to be adjustable, but if it were just made larger by default that would be helpful.

It seem that the timeline bar follows the color of the time selection, and it lights up when the mouse touches it:

Related to the stem improvement subject, at certain zoom levels ledger lines through note heads are a smidge too low

Indeed, which is good, because the page looks cleaner that way. My post above was basically taking the opportunity while work is being done to provide themeing, in order to shoe-horn an unrelated FR into this thread which is to make the timeline taller so it is slightly easier to hit with the mouse.
