I find this (in current state and at first glance) quite similar to the old takes recording/slice and dice comping method actually (manual split = take play marker, ok it doesn't auto-split which many people don't seem to like).
So I'm (respectfully) wondering where's the (big?) benefit compared to slice and dice comping?
Same here. I was hoping for @sexans script implementation. I think it's way more powerful. How to use item FX for single "splits" here and how to use the system with non click based music?

But of course I really appreciate this topic is being treated!

If this can be reached, awesome! There definitely are situations where lane comping is the easier way to go. I just find playlist style way more powerful overall.

Comping is pretty easy to separate into dependencies. Devs seem to be setting up as many possible workflows, and the "ProTools Playlist" style relies on those lower-level things to be worked out and bug-fixed.

Probably useful that everyone's airing their desired workflows, and it might require nothing more than all the necessary basic actions being added, and all the more complicated nuances of comping build on top of those actions.

My feeling on this, and this is just me shooting off at the mouth, is that describing workflows is less productive (and my observation is that it's taken less seriously) compared to expressing problems to be solved.

Like, "I need to be able to quickly audition non-playmarked lanes", or "I need to be able to edit the raw comp without modifying the source material". As opposed to "how Sexan/Pro Tools/Logic does it".

+ FX: when setting compatibility settings, update all open FX instances
Justin, how does this work? I have a few instances of the same plug-in across several tracks and I want to disable the "auto-bypass" on all of them at once. I've tried to 1) disable it in the FX Browser or 2) disable it on one of the instances but nothing seems to work.
