Late to the party, but is there a reference thread about these? I'd be very interested in reading what exactly was the problem here...

I also admire their work.Reaper is a real discovery for me, I'm surprised by the attitude of developers to the consumer and to the program itself. This is a real joy for me, and I can afford to give my friends such a wonderful DAW as a gift.
Thanks a lot !!!!

How does one resets control surface without going into Preferences/"Control/OSC/Web"/Edit CSurf/Ok/Ok? Is there an easier way to reset csurf plugin, if the surface was turned on while Reaper is already running?

There probably be an action for it that you can assign to a keyboard key or a toolbar.

"Control surface: Refresh all surfaces"
EDIT: Oops, sorry, I guess that's not what you meant by "resetting" :-/

Same here, I recommend this daw to everyone, light, customizable and the developers listen to the needs of the users as well as update it with great continuity.

There's an action that you can setup on a toolbar button. However if I plug any MIDI control surface when reaper is open even with a MIDI reset this is not seen until I restart the program.

Do you mean "refresh all control surfaces" action?
This isn't what the action does. Executing this action would sent actual project's data from Reaper to the already connected surfaces.
There's no action to rediscover newly connected control surfaces, as far as I'm aware. That's why I was asking about more convenient way to "reset" control surfaces, other then going into Preferences.

Yes I mean that. I thought it would do a rescan, well I think a function of that kind will be useful.

OH YES, it's so annoying.
I'm currently using Midi-OX and LoopBe as a workaround. I set up a virtual midi cable to use in Reaper, and if i turn on my controller microKEY (usb) i just have to restart Midi-OX and don't have to quit Reaper.
But it would be amazing to have an option to close and reopen midi ports, cause PCs really suck at Midi.
What is interesting that with my other controller, a QuNExus, i can plug it in, and just have to launch "Reset all MIDI devices" action, and it works.
