Default I need a decent mouse for midi editing

Hi all

Odd question I know, but I think my mouse (Microsoft - not wireless) is slowing me down when it comes to detailed midi editing. It seems to lack precision at speed. Can anyone recommend a mouse which is up to the job?

Many thanks

Martin

I use a Kensington Expert Mouse. It is actually a track ball about the size of a Cue ball and I love the control it gives me on sequencing and wave editing.

this is the exact one. It works for everything windows and Mac. (I use both XP 32 bit and Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit)

It is awesome editing graphics and video as well.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Genius-SCROL...8822777&sr=8-1

I have just bought this for £4.99 and so far its brilliant! I have used a nice logitech wierless (like above recommended) and 2 other logitech's and a cheap (£5) Trust mouse that I took back after 2 days.

This Genius mouse is very very nice for the price and it is very quick response. It is wired (because I have had prob's with wireless) and its ps2 (because I have had prob's with USB and soundcard). They do a USB version as well though.

I've had the same Logitech Trackball for about ten years!!

It never lets me down, is accurate, fast and comfortable.

(You occasionally have to lift out the ball and remove the fluff)

Either you're a trackball type or not -- its a personal thing.

+100

If just looking for regular style mouse, Performance MX is the cat's meow. I have 3 of them for both home and office. One of the best "mouses" ever made. Its funny because like 10 different people at work made fun of me for bying an expensive mouse, now every one of them have an MX and thank me daily.

I've so thought about trying one but I don't want to be tied to something that is "non-default" for lack of a better word. I'd hate to be asked to difuse a bomb with computer code and all they have are regular mouses.

Thanks all for your feedback on this. Never thought about the trackball option. Need to see if I can test drive one first. Meantime, I have ordered a Genius as a stopgap. At that price, I can always use it as a backup if I decide to go for something else.

The Logitech MX518 is a fine game mouse and can be used for anything. It's a high precision mouse. It works fine without drivers and you can change dpi settings on the fly. Gamers with small hands usually prefer a Razer mouse.

But I usually use my Evoluent Vertical Mouse, but that's not for everyone I suppose.

If like me you have large hands, the most irritating thing is that mouses are ALWAYS too small and working for hours with a mouse at your finger tips always ends up in a sore hand.

Solution:
Steel Series World of Warcraft Cataclysm mouse

This mouse is HUGE!!! Even you if you are not a gamer or even if you could not care less about World of Warcraft, do yourself a favor and finally end the pain. I've been using this for the past 4 months and I am in heaven!!! No more sore hands!!!

Vassago

That mouse looks positively dangerous. Do you need a licence for it?

Coachz - I now have my Genius mouse. So far so good. Nice light touch and good feel. Excellent for the price. Good spot Faun2500.
