Default Jointventure using GoogleDrive / Dropbox

Hi fellows,
I wonder if it's possible to use Reaper with a cloud service. In our band we like to share snippets oder song ideas using gDrive.
As for Cubase we would need to re-configure our audiodev ices on every start if anybody else was using the file. Also we need to pause gDrive while using the project files for net getting locked-file trouble or synchronizing temp files.

How would you do that using Reaper?
Is there an easy way for sharing files with your band/partners?
Or is there even an option to share it live, i.e. multiple users are able to change files at the same time? Like recording Guitar ans Bass at the same time and getting no errors as long as both users don't change the same channels?
Or even getting a live update when one of them records a new layer?

There's nothing automatic like that, but if you each are only working on one track at a time and the source file never changes name, you can just overwrite the old source file with the new one and Reaper will never know. The file length can change, but the start time should always be the start of the project, because you can't all be editing the Project file at the same time, just the wav files.

Save your project in your Dropbox folder everytime you save it's updated and Dropbox does the upload in the back. Send the link to yourdropbox to your partners or rather add them to the folder instead giving them adiministrator rights or something similar in terminology.

So depending on the type of service and your connection changes may appear to your band mates in something like 2 to 10 minutes if it's not a big change from the original. It's still pretty cool.

In our bandproject we have a shared folder for our new songs and when we edit one song, we notice each other in telegram that nobody alse does changes on that song in this time.

But a feature that detects whos editing which layers would be nice. There could be a temp-file which locks the layers other people are working on.
When the lock disappears, I may edit those layers/channels.
That way multiple users could edit their own recordings while there wouldn't be any corrupted files

The projectfile might need different audio-devices and mastervolume-settings for each user, as when I turn down the volume the others still might be able to listen on their computers in different volume on different soundcards.

Is there a place to suggest such features to cockos?

You can request features in the Feature Request forum. But like I said, if everyone commits their edits directly to their own source file wavs, then everyone can work on the project at the same time without issues, NOW. You could even use the free Resilio Sync to have each other's changes uploaded to everyone's working folders automatically, whenever they occur. Each person can then have their own project to do whatever with, but everyone else only gets the committed audio file that they can't corrupt or directly alter.
