Default JS plugins not reading in MAC OSMojave

I recently heard about REeq and a few other newer reaper plugins, and excitedly went to download them...but problems arose... my computer won't seem to read them correctly files with a .js or .jsfx extension for some reason are foreign to my computer (it titles them EXEC files?) and reaper won't read them when I put them in the fx folder. Anybody else have this issue and/or can offer an explanation? I'm running Reaper v6.13 64bit on my imac.
