Default USB Hubs - Which Ones to Get?

I use a USB 2 hub for my printer, mouse, etc. I need to get another one but not sure what to consider since prices are all over the map now.

Also wondering if I should get a USB 3.0 instead of 2 hub.

Any suggestions?

I have had 2 of these powered USB hubs, piggybacked, for a few years now - never had a problem, unlike some of the more well known makes around.

https://www.clasohlson.com/uk/4-Port....0-Hub/18-8362

This is obviously a UK site but they are in the US I believe, and will ship.
I am not a rabid fan of Clas Ohlson per se, but this hub works great.

I'm using two Anker hubs that I bought on Amazon and they perform perfectly well. No reason not to get a USB 3 hub. When ever you finally add a SUB 3 compliant device you'll be glad you did.

Reading some reviews of some of the Anker hubs and some people complained that the hub added noise into their audio. Ordered one and will give it a try.
Thanks!

I'm sorry I don't have product advice on the tip of my tongue. In general, most the USB hubs available will be aimed at "general purpose" use (printer, keyboard, mouse) and then there will be those couple "pro" models that feature actual full bandwidth on the I/O and so forth. Same thing goes for the thunderbolt hubs.

So if you're doing something performance related over USB, you want to pay attention shopping for that. If you can keep everything performance needing off USB and only use it for keyboard, mouse, & backup drive, then it might be a more of a moot point.

In my experience, no it doesn't. If the audio is already digitally encoded then I don't see how it can.

I once had a USB hub that caused my WiFI to stop working.

For my laptop I use this:

If you don't have USB-C, I would try something from Satechi:
