Default ICON PLATFORM M

Hi
I talked to a guy from the Icon support, he said the Platform M will be soon available and extensions as well. The unit could handle 3 extents to give a
32 channel controler fully compatible with Reaper.
Extensions are expected before the end of the year

That sounds very encouraging.

If you're still in contact with the gentlemen, as a mixer I would very much like to use the faders to ride sends.

Reapers MCU control surface plugin does not allow for that. And neither does Klinkes MCU plugin :\.

If the Icon M can do that in Reaper, and those guys support the unit with a control surface plugin that allows for that, I'll consider dumping my Mackie Control Universal for it.

I looked into these, they looked very promising except for one fatal flaw.

The Platform D (LCD display) does not line up with the platform M channels, rendering the whole idea useless as far as I can tell.

I can't believe they missed the requirement for having scribble strips, but they did.

Looks nice but as Geoff said the Platform D doesn't align correctly with the M.
Still looking to try out the Icon Pro X before starting to think to give away my Avid Artist.

I just returned a platform M

The unit wobbled on a flat surface..The chassis was warped

The motor noise when Idle was very loud and it would hum when you touched the sliders.

Utter crap.

I heard about the fader noise too. Shame really.

Looks like I'll look in to one of their older units if I do need one.

Just got mine today. It's going back. Chassis warped, noisy and sticky faders. Updated to latest firmware and it was worse. I'd hoped they'd got it sorted by now. Also the zoom feature didn't work well.

Shame, It's a lovely looking piece of kit. I might try the Behringer BCF2000 next....

I can't find any reference to a mk2 on the 'net. I'm assuming it's a mk1. Any info you have on a mk2 would be gratefully received!

Has anyone tried this one?

not sure if the quality control is here either, but at least it looks like things line up better

Did you end up buying a different control surface? I'm in the market to find one and looking for opinions. Thanks!
