That's the one that gave rise to the recent adding of opaqueness control in Reaper.

There's a few other similar analysis VSTs out there for free too.

VB Striptool has a compressor, Eq and meters; VERY LOW CPU, only 1% on my Athlon 1700!

We've replaced this man's regular coffee with twelve hits of blue-blotter LSD. Let's see if he notices...

There's nothing theological or Arthurian in it. There usually is. I think that is the difference.

Free but not a plugin - http://www.softpointer.com/AudioShell.htm - shows configurable extra info about your media files, works fine in Reaper.

Not a new plugin, but some very attractive new skins by xlakex for the wellknown Posifopit EQ here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=167984

Let's hope the limiter just limits this time...

the "illusionister" is quite interesting and strays a little into Acousmodules territory, perhaps. BTW the Acousmodules effects should work much better now with recent changes to Reaper's envelope handling and automation writing.

That Ilusionister plugin, does it work well, withot too many noticeable sonic artifacts ?
I have tried several "pseudo 3D" plugins, and ver really got convinced about any (a lot of phasing, or nearly nothing at all...).

BTW, to raise my voice about a post above : YES, the DeleMAncha plugins are excellent !

I guess I would say that it is it's own thing. Don't expect too much realism, just a handy tool which might have some use in drama or commercials perhaps or other special effects.

Slim show Slider FX
I found these completely by accident ... has some linear Phase EQs(!), among other things ...

cpu isn't bad (around 2%), but the 64 point linear phase EQ for mastering uses 8 - 9% .. yikes! all use 64 bit internal processing, which is cool

I come from PT-world, so there were not so many good free analyst-tools
I was hoping that one would work well but it shot my cpu usage thru the roof.

I have been using them in Reaper under Win64 and Vista without any incidents whatsoever. They actually just released version 1.35 and added another new component!!

Probably posted before but I found it only recently: Silverspike's Roommachine 844. Since I found it it nestled itself in my default fx chain. Why is such a useful plug free?
http://www.silverspike.com/?Products:RoomMachine_844

"RoomMachine 844 is not a reverb effect that delivers long, silky reverberation tails, instead RoomMachine focuses on early reflections determined by the position of sound source and listener. RoomMachine 844 puts your track right into the room. Can be used as a master effect but is even more useful on single tracks or sections.

Operation is in full stereo and all processing is performed in high quality, 32 bit floatingpoint precision. An easy to use interface with realistic, animated knobs gives you the look and feel of a true machine."

Default Where is Modern Synth???

I see it posted here that Antress has a synth out, but I can't seem to find it on the Antress Modern plugin page. Is it still available? Does someone have a direct link? His/her other plugins are awesome and I would love to see what a Modern Synth would look and sound like!

Does anyone know how I can strip vocals from a song ? I've got some comedy vocals for a chart song here and its either re-record the track or strip vocals from the original ?

AnalogX vocal remover works ( pretty much ) as a dx plugin in reaper

The only vocal removal software I've come across that really works - leaving the end result as stereo, and with a full bass response - is the "centre channel extractor" tool in Audition 2.0. You could download a trial of that if you wanted a possibly better result - but it's a 500Mb download, I think.

What the AnalogX utility does is just the usual phase reversal etc trick. I can't remember the exact method but it's very straightforward.

Hi,

I tried that Flux -Bitter Sweet plugin and encountered a problem.

It worked ok when i added it to the project ... but later when i tried to re-open the project it didn't open anymore.

I didn't know what to do so i opened the .rpr file (made a backup before doing so ... of course) and bypassed all of the effects. The effect that was causing this "crash on opening" was this Bitter Sweet plugin.

Have anyone else encountered this problem? (i'm running rpr 1.828).

*correction*
It didn't start working with bypass. I had to remove the whole entry for it. The plug in seems to work normally if i add it to a project.

Just got e-mail and there was this info:

Fix and Improvements:

* VST Plug-in Crash on project (composition) or preset reload; with certain Host Software and only certain CPU (like FL7, Sequoia...).

Yup, confirmed. Same happened to me, twice. Bypassing it in the project file didn't work. Had to delete the whole entry for that plug-in before the project would load. Shame, I liked the effect. But at least I now totally appreciate the human readable project file. Bloody fantastic!

EDIT: Oh, I'll go download the fixed version then.

Just a little information: Nebula will be a little less underwhelming. Sorry if the first release was a bit confused. It's a powerful technology, it is able to do so many things, we dedicated only a little time to the gui and the interface. The commercial Nebula3 will be more user-friendly

This one could please our death metal man scum, but many others looking for extremely heavy & distorted guitar 'n other sounds as well:

http://habib.webhost.pl/vst_extremist.php

It does a good job, I really like it and you probably won't find this kind of distortion in most amp sims. Useful EQ and noise gate on board, Great Death 3 preset!

edit/ Piotr "Habib" Pyrzanowski from Poland made it.

Nebula is simply stunning I'd love to see some tape emulation and Avalon DI-box (with passive filters) presets in it... I think Nebula has the potential: very analog sound ! Congratulations.
