Midi Clock issue. perfectly syncs but only at 0.00.00
I have posted this question in the MIDI hardware page but I didn't put a suitable title on.
Im trying to sync my MicroKorg with Reaper, however it only syncs perfectly when i play from 0.00.00. Anywhere else on the timeline it responds but not immediately or consistently, rendering it unusable.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I had the same problem with Logic, it only synced perfectly at 0.00.00. Or is this more likely an issue with my microkorg?
Any help much appreciated : )

Do you have tempo changes in the song or different time signatures?

hia,
thanks for responding.
No theres no tempo or time signature changes.
And same with a fresh project, only at 0.00.00 is the MK immediately triggered every time by the play/stop command.
Frustrating because at 0.00.00 its extremely responsive and consistent.
Thanks again.

are you starting the sync on Reaper, if you are, click the back button on the player to the beginning then use your mouse to where you want it to be, say measure 10, then hit play. Also don't start it in the middle of a measure. So back button to the start, mouse click beginning of any measure then hit play

yes, that will work I think, great idea cheers. Less annoying than the Logic workaround which was similar but you had to create a loop region, your way will be slightly less faff.
Still seems like a bug of some sort, the fact it does sync perfectly from 0 means it is able to communicate with the MK properly, and vice versa.
I'll give your work around a try though.
thanks again

No bug, its still communicating. I would think any DAW would have the same way to do that, except logic

The MicroKorg probably begins arpeggiateing on the first MIDI clock it receives, and then steps the arpeggiator according to its RESOLUTION setting.
If you start Reaper “anywhere else on the timeline” then it may start playing on non-RESOLUTION boundary, and as a result it should play perfectly out of sync at the correct tempo.

Thanks Bob
thats a good point, i have messed with arp settings to see if they have an affect and doesnt seem to. I dont want to sync it for the arpeggiator rather the lfo'S but what you say is right; it does follow the BPM but unless its at 0.00 it lags so the lfo is not in sync. And maybe not a bug, but as i say it is bullet tight at 0.00, so they can communicate perfectly.
Thanks for your input anyway, dont think ill ever get to the bottom of it.
if your reading this and your having the same problem-your screwed.
(or if your reading this and you know a solution, please do post the solution)
