WOW!!! That's kind of surprising, I only thought the large majority of Vegas users would have enjoyed it. The default Reaper color scheme's auto crossfade was blending in too much for me, where I couldn't even see it, so I started there and then 3 hours later got a little carried away. I'm glad you like it. I think I might make a Sonar theme next. Any requests?

I like that kind of colors because they don't hurt your eyes after a long period of work. I sometimes work 8 to 10 hours in front of monitor and if colors are too dark or to bright with high contrast, they influence my mood. I like Tracktion colors. I hated them at start, they looked to wash out, but after a long period of time and long day (and night) sessions, they turned out to be quite pleasing.

vegas theme.. and then ?
Yes, a Vegas theme... why not ?
But the look isn't everything... If Reaper could READ video files.... WOW !!!
Is any improvements are planned that way ?
(.... and.... i know.... i'm telling ALWAYS the same : T.I.M.E.S.T.R.E.T.C.H !!!!!!! This is a must have !!! I never see any version or new features or announcments in that way... is such an ida dead ??)
The only thing I don't like in Reaper is that the transport controls are way to the left side.I want it to be like in Vegas - in the center. The placement in Vegas is nearly ideal
And,whoever posted the Vegas theme, please upload it again to Stashbox.(and every other theme you may post soon)= much easier to download.
Here's a Stashbox link. I originally didn't put it there, since it's a TXT file and it kept on showing you the contents instead of just being able to download it. I put it in a Zip archive, maybe this will work better.
I started working on the Sonar Theme, the only thing is that Reaper doesn't allow you to customize certain parts of the GUI, like where the Transport buttons are. So it remains Grey there and anywhere in the track column headers where a track is not inserted. This worked well for Vegas since it's the same color as the default Reaper theme, but the Sonar theme is kind of looking clownish. Look at the current Nuendo Theme as an example and you'll see the limitation that I'm talking about.
I would like a feature in REAPER that will allow to drag-and-drop a .ReaperTheme file to the REAPER window and apply it immediately,so there's no need to go to the options menu at all.
Yours is good, but you didn't cheat like I did to make the colors exact. I opened Adobe Photoshop and used the eye dropper with screen captures from Vegas. Then Photoshop gave me the exact RGB values, which I then entered into the Reaper Theme editor.
hahaha,toy cheater
Mine is "Reaper-meets-Vegas"-style,and it looks more correct (look at the time/measure bar at the top and above the selection area.
It's more like the real deal.
I made it by looking at the Vegas window screenshot and comparing it by eye,no PS cheating.
It's a modified Vegas theme with a "lighter feel"

Lol!!! Yeah, I know. I'm hoping Justin will update the theme editor a tad so we can change those colors too. I originally started out doing it exactly how you had done. After it took me 15 minutes for one color and it was still a bit off, a light bulb went off....PHOTOSHOP EYE DROPPER TOOL!!!
1. A track waveform that is UNselected
2. A track waveform that is Selected
3. Empty Space on a track between audio events
4. Area below where there are no audio tracks present
5. Track header unselected
6. Track header Selected
7. 2 events overlaping with a crossfade between them.
8. Markers
9. Volume envelope
10. Pan envelope
11. A loop selection encompassing items 1-5
12. Grid lines
Basically if use the pic I posted above as a reference and give me something similar in a .BMP format then I can create it by using Photoshop and the eye dropper to get the exact color and enter it into the Reaper theme editor RGB color chooser.
Heh, I was more joking than serious about an Audition theme (I use 2.0 now) - the current 'vegaslike' theme suits me nicely even though I've never seen Vegas! But never mind the themes, feel the functions...
Photoshop? You don't even need it.There are free little programs like Colourificator and Pixeur which do the eyedropper job and it's much lighter than having the whole Photoshop installed just for doing that
It's a one-minute job to do it with an eyedropper cheat
Just one thing to say: Why are you posting .JPG images and not converting to .PNG? PNGs don't alter the colors and are even smaller in size for these types of screenshots.
If you wan't accurate color replicas, post your screenshots as PNG instead.Colors in JPGs look very different.
I would like to see ProTools,ACID,Tracktion1,Tracktion2 ,Sonar,Logic,Kristal and FLStudio themes. So bring on the screenshots

You see there, I learn something new everyday. I'm pretty good with the audio stuff, but when it comes to video and graphics I'm a moron. That's why I use Photoshop....I'm only able to learn one Photo editing app, and I've been using Photoshop since v3.0 and there's still a ton of stuff I don't know about the program.
Rather than have themes all over the message boards and eventually lost, how about we have a (sticky?) thread where we can all post our fantastic (or otherwise) Reaper themes.

This time here's a dark theme featuring some deadly radioactive stuff - "Toxic" :
Now here's something completely different: Fun Fun Colors - a nice happy theme, maybe too colorful for most of you
Another interesting theme, based on obscure stuff - DCSequencer
And,finally, for those who love the Lemon-Lime theme here's - Tutti Frutti - a delicious, juicy theme full of fresh fruit, not just sour lemons
Good for mixing some fruity loops
Enjoy!
Justin, can you add an option to change the color of the MOVING playback CURSOR,not the position cursor. When creating different themes, especially darker themes like "Toxic",it's very hard to see the gray moving cursor.
Also, can you add outlines to the media items and MIDI notes? Look at this picture I found on the net and see how having outlines on MIDI notes in the piano roll looks great.
The same can be done to the audio (WAV/sample) items to look much better.
A user-changeable color for this outline will make it perfect fit for the various themes.
I would like an option for the tracks to be separated by a thin line between them, instead of two alternating colors for even and odd tracks. With this,I can set the same color for even and odd tracks, but have lines separating them.
Also,I can only re-create certain themes with this feature.
Though I'm not sure if green gives you peace of mind, as they say, I gave some fine greens a chance in the Camouflage Theme - which is not a tribute to anything military: https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/1142871...ge.ReaperTheme
When I click on the stashbox link, I just get a page with a long list of what looks like code for the color theme....
anyone else ?
It works if you right-click the link and choose the 'save as' option; simply put the themes in REAPERS color themes folder. The 'reapertheme' file is just a set of color definitions.
