Default Quantize Note's end bug or not [FIXED]

I think it would make better sense if the note's end would quantize to the next grid instead of moving it to the same as the note's start even it the note's start is closer than the next grid.

What do you think? Bug or not? it always bugging me at least.

Has been brought up before

http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=152136

and I agree, current behaviour doesn't seem to make much sense musically (to me at least).

it's time to report it as a bug then? Anyone else thinks so?

I think it's not a bug, strictly speaking. So it may make more sense to frame the issue as a FR for an additional option.

ok. I created the issue here as feature request instead of a bug.

If you need finer control of "note end only" quantize behavior you need to use 'Manual' instead of the 'Use grid' mode. Manual lets you prohibit shrinking (which fixes your issue) or growing of notes and lets you apply a "quantize grid" separate from the PRV grid. That way you can control pretty precisely where your note-offs are going.

It seems to me that there isn't anything that 'Use grid' mode can do that 'Manual' can't. Arguably, we should just get rid of 'Use grid' mode altogether, then.

Yes we should always use manual mode then

But can't use the action "Quantize notes position and end to grid" command ID 40729
because it does the same as when using grid

'Use grid' might work technically correct currently but I think "what makes sense musically" should also be considered in this case.

I mean who really wants or finds these zero note length notes useful ?
I at least don't.
