Step 1.

Issue this command in a terminal window, and replace "VST_PATH" with the path to your Windows VST folders. You will need to run this once with your VST2 path and a second time with your VST3 path.

~/.local/share/yabridge/yabridgectl add "VST_PATH"

Step 2.

Issue this command to scan the two paths you set in step 1.

~/.local/share/yabridge/yabridgectl sync

Nope. If you want to use Window plugins in Linux, you are going to need WINE to install and run them. Yabridge just bridges the plugins running in WINE so they appear to REAPER for Linux as native Linux plugins.

When you run either Yabridge or LinVST they both create .so files that are seen by REAPER as real Linux plugins, but the .so files point to the real Windows .dll files which will be running in WINE.

Yes, you will need to install Wine. Wine's currently going through some internal changes that can cause some things to break on the very latest version, so at the moment I'd recommend installing Wine Staging 6.4 (from a couple of weeks ago) and to then just pin that version (so it doesn't get updated automatically). Instructions on how to do that on apt based distros (Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives) and on Arch based distros can be found here in yabridge's readme.

After that, you can find general usage instructions under the automatic setup section. Let me know if anything's still unclear!

You're welcome. I know how daunting it can be with a new unfamiliar operating system.
