Default assigning knobs to a vsti synth

i want my apk mini's knob to control lfo amount for my TAL noisemaker.
not working.
i assigned my knob to the parameter yes.
but tweaking the knob doesn't o anything to the parameter.
it doesn't do anything.

what am i supposed to do so that i can modulate the parameter in real time and recording?

i looked everywhere for noting and wasted two hours.

Double-check that the MIDI device is enabled for INPUT AND for CONTROL in Reaper's Preferences.

Then:
-- twiddle the control on the FX's GUI
-- click [Param] and select "Learn"
-- twiddle the knob / slider on your MIDI controller,
-- the CC message number should appear in the pop-up window,
-- enable Soft Takeover (and the other options if you wish) and click [OK].

yes, i did all that.
not working.
it's receiving normal notes but not the knobs.
the envelope changes when i move my fader in write mode but it's not reacting to my apk mini.

also, if the settings are correct, do the knobs on the GUI move when i move my hardware knob?

OK,what does this say " the CC message number should appear in the pop-up window"?

Record the messages from the Akai as a MIDI clip when you move a knob. What do you see in the MIDI Editor / View Mode: Event List?

Do the knobs move? Yes, they should.
