Default Minor Media Explorer tweaks

My work often makes heavy use of the Media Explorer... trawling through my hard drive for samples and bits and pieces. So, the faster I can be with it, the better!

Here's some tweaks and refinements to the Shortcuts that I'd like to see (in order of importance):

- Option for a column to the right of Shortcuts which displays directory tree structure.

- Last used path should be remembered when you re-open REAPER. Ideally there would be an option for this to be either on a per-project or global basis.

- Ability to re-order the Shortcut folders - by dragging and dropping - and the option to automatically list them alphabetically. Currently, they're listed in the order in which they were created.

- Adjustable width of shortcut folder column. If a shortcut has a long path name, you can't currently see the title of the relavant directory. So, the width of the folder should be dragg-able and this should be remembered when you close the app.

- Ability to rename shortcuts - this would remove the long path problem. Obviously this wouldn't rename the actual directory, just the shortcut pointer.

- Ability to show shortcut folder names without their full path; just showing the final destination directory. This would help avoid some of the problems above.

Thoughts, guys?

Thanks

Ben

Long paths are def an issue here.

Last used path when you re-open would be great.. I don't blame you for mentioning it twice

+1 cos I'm finally starting to use Media Explorer & noticed most of those limitations very quickly

It's sounds odd I know, but I'm kinda desperate to have a tree structure display in the Media Explorer. Would speed up my workflow many, many times over. Rifling through big sub-directories with lots of files in is a major PITA at the moment.

Surely others would like to see this too?

Thanks Norbury.

Anyone else want to lend their support to the Ben Zero Media Explorer Campaign?
