Default Weird Issue with Melodyne

I downloaded the full feature trial of Melodyne the other day and set about using it with a particularly problematic vocal inside of Reaper. There was one particular vocal phrase that was really problematic for Melodyne - and the way it recognized the pitches made it virtually impossible to "fix" without serious digital quirks (I think it interpreted octave jumps etc....) I just assumed it was the limitations of the software.

At some point I opened up Melodyne in stand alone more (to check it out) and imported the same vocal into Melodyne --- and the way it "saw" the notes was different - there wasn't that crazy octave jump -- it was easy to "fix" and I was able to move on with my project -----

So why would it behave differently inside of Reaper? It was placed first position on the vocal bus at it was the same raw vocal file I was using. Any help under standing this would be appreciated because I now wonder what other difficulties it had inside of Reaper for other notes etc...

Where do you mean by this? The track fx itself? After track fx on the vocal folder track?

I haven't tried using Melodyne as track fx. I use it as item fx so far and haven't experienced this scenario.

I just mean 1st position before the other FX.

Basically when Melodyne is opened inside the FX box it reads the track differently than if I open reaper as a stand-alone program and import the vocal track into melodyne

Ok, I'll see if I can reproduce the problem on my system, when I get a chance.
