You can customize the colors of the Routing Diagram in the theme/tweak window. For those unaware of where to find this:
Go to:
Actions > Show Actions List...
Type this into the top field:
"Theme development: Show theme tweak/configuration window"

I bet no one in the v6 wishlist thread saw that coming
First impression, shock, awe, confused - ha !
Second impression, really cool - looks great, kinda puts the routing and grouping dialogs to shame though.
Some way to filter the view, esp when dealing with larger track counts would be great, although being able to zoom in/out with the mousewhell (ala arrange window default) would be super useful, and faster scrolling (think it's been mentioned already, but same deal here).

That's a cool idea too, but there would be no way to navigate a large project without some kind of zoom. In UE, zooming is so fast, you can quickly zoom out to see the "big picture" and then back in to do the actual work in the appropriate area. It's just a super fast and intuitive way of navigating a big modular setup.
Colored comment boxes for grouping nodes (and moving them around easily) is another handy feature.
I've been wishing Cockos would steal some of the modular routing ideas from UE for a long time...

Control Surface fixes confirmed!
My patience paid off! Thank you Cockos, for fixing my control surface - whatever you did worked on my end!
Cheers - 10/10 would(will) buy again!
p.s. For completeness, you can read more about my original issue here (page 15, a little less than half way down, and maybe 16): https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....193760&page=15

Wow!
Holding the mouse down on the vertical scroll bar handle scrolls right. Also can't scroll down to see the entire routing lines if they go below the bottom of the window.

It would be great to have an option to only show hardware inputs/outputs that have aliased names, instead of showing ALL of them at all times.
I have RME UFX+, and it has capability for 94 inputs and 94 outputs simultaneously, but I'm not using ALL of them at all times.
Turns out I need to enable the whole range of ins/outs in Preferences->Audio->Device if I want to see all the ins/outs that I've aliased, but it shows ALL the I/Os in the wiring diagram, despite me aliasing only less than half of them. Would be nice to have this declutterred, just like record input menu has it - the record input menu shows only aliased inputs, so wiring diagram should follow suit.
It would also be great to be able to see the names of ins/outs, as well. Right now we're dragging those wires blindly, pretty much.
Also there's a typo in Theme development/tweaker: "Wiring: Backgruond grid lines".

This wiring is BIG addition. I suspect that release 5.94 will later change to 6.
I'm happy to see that it is possible to route effects too with this. But it gets a bit owerwhelming with large track counts. I suggest that there would be a shortcut to zoom to selected track when wiring window is open.
Another suggestion is to make smaller version of track wiring, only for selected track, which would switch focus as new tracks are selected.

Most likely won't. One "big" feature does not version 6 make.

Needs some sort of hiding what is not needed. Maybe show only selected tracks? Or another column in "Track Manager", to disable/enable tracks that show in "Track Wiring"? Maybe combine "Track manager" and "Track Wiring" into one window? Just brainstorming...

Filtering by name, and/or showing only selected tracks, and/or showing only tracks that have sends/receives, perhaps.

This feature displays routing in a way that is easy to follow. Here's s small suggestion to improve following sends to and from the destination track, especially if they're further apart in the display.
modifier + click on SEND to focus the display on the destination track.
modifier + click on cable to focus the display on the source track.
Makes it easier to go back and forth. None of the modifiers should be ALT, since that deletes stuff and can lead to accidents.

Anyone else find the right to left signal flow in the track wiring confusing?
Would it not be more intuitive if the inputs were on the left and the outs on the right?

Could be good for the wiring diagram to follow the MCP option "master on the right", perhaps?

Fine here with up/down. But if left/right, it should be docked. Scrolling sucks.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for this great implementation. No doubt it will make things simpler for us. Anyway I am still looking forward to seeing Articulation Maps in Reaper in the near future.

Bug regarding the new use of the windows key
Hi Devs.
Something I've just noticed since you put in the function to be able to use the windows key within in reaper (on it's own) is that I swear before I could use a combination of the windows key plus shift (I think) and then the arrow keys to make a plugin window jump from one monitor to another monitor.
These seems to have stopped working now. I'll have a look around to see if I can see why that's happened but just thought I'd give a heads up in case there was an easy way to disable it to test without going back a few pres.
Thanks.

Yep. Even though I do keep master at left in Reaper MCP, with modular wiring (hardware and sofware), I'm used to left to right flow. That was the first thing which felt weird to me opening the wiring diagram. Master can already be dragged to the right in wiring, but can be a bit of a hassle in big projects.

It would make sense for wiring layout to follow the mcp master setup too.
Way to collapse all the tracks like you can do already for the individual tracks (the narrow vertical boxes). Then focusing/expanding selected tracks to full view. Tracing selected routings visually.

I don't necessarily mean the master. Each of the tracks has their input pins on the right side and outputs on the left. I'm sure I could eventually get used to it but it's really messing with me, since it's totally counter-intuitive.
Another track wiring FR: The one addition I see as making this new system truly advantageous over the current routing system (since there are wires) would be to animate the signal flow when there is audio playback.
Troubleshooting routing would be a snap if we could see exactly where the audio is and isn't flowing. I've seen this is FL and even UE has it in simulation mode (which helps immensely to troubleshoot code flow issues).
