Default RMB-drag "box selection" also opens RMB-menu?

Hi,
When I select media/midi items using RMB-drag "box selection" the RMB menu also opens and I have to close it using ESC-key. Is this a reaper issue or win64 problem?
Any Help welcome!
/S

Just to clarify:

- Are you clicking the RMB only once (when starting the box-selection-drag) in this case? Or are you perhaps also clicking a mouse button (RMB or LMB) again at the end?
- And what are you using as input device?

RMB: click and hold, drag to select then release.
Input device: Old logitech 3-button mouse: LB, RB and middle scroll button.

Is using the RMB working correctly in other applications?
Or do you have a different input device or mouse to check if the behavior is the same there?

Just to rule out that it might perhaps be a hardware problem (like a faulty or worn-out button) and pressing the RMB might somehow trigger a double-right-click instead a single right-click ...

Some Logitech mice (I had it happen with an M570 trackball) are known to have the switches start misbehaving after a while - the right button seems particularly common, and it will start doing things like letting go before you actually release the button, or thinking you re-clicked it.

Another possible option you can try is to assign "Marquee select items" to a different Mouse Modifier like [Track] [left drag] (via Preferences > Mouse Modifiers): https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php#u1b2DCfKiYk
This way you can use left drag instead of right drag to select items.
