That's interesting, because I haven't changed anything in your FP Zone folder. Are you sure those things were working correctly before?

Try adding the FP as a Listener (to itself) in the Advanced section of the prefs and ticking GoHome, SelectedTrackSends, SelectedTrackReceives.

UAD X 1176 AE and SCE24
Bit of an odd one with the
UAD Spark version of the 1176-AE and the SCE-24, if I move an encoder it doesn't respond, but the surface receives feedback if I change settings on the plugin.
All of the other UAD 1176 versions work fine after automapping, just that particular plugin.
Not really a big deal, but I wondered if it was anything to do with the plugin name being very similar to the other versions I have mapped.

I can try to reprodce that sometime this week but if you don't feel like waiting, maybe temporarily move the Rev A and Rev E .zon files to a different location and restart Reaper. Then try using AE. Does it now work? If yes, then perhaps it is a conflict/bug in the parser (likely with the Rev A). If it still doesn't work, then you know it's something else.

When you press the RotaryPush to GoFXSlot for a plugin for which no map (fx.zon) exists, CSI opens a dialog box with three options: AutoMap, Learn and Cancel. Is this happening?

Thanks! It did the same, but when I removed and re-mapped it, it worked fine.
Comparing the files, the zon file that didnt work has an additional "[ 0 1 ]" for all of the encoders -
RotaryA1 FXParam 0 [ 0 1 ] RingStyle=Dot LEDRingColor=#0000ffff PushColor=#003f00ff
I wonder if I pressed the Automap button while the plugin was still authorizing and CSI mapped each parameter as having two positions only.
Those UAD Spark plugins can be really slow to load sometimes.

Please, help me set up sub-zones for Console 1. I want to control plugins without opening their interfaces, simply by selecting the tracks.
So, here's the workflow I want to achieve:
I want to click on a track, press the 'Comp' button on Console 1, and then control the compressor parameters on the selected track. Then, I'll press the 'Drive' button and control the saturator parameters on the same track.
I've created sub-zones for 'Drive' and 'Comp', each containing zones with the parameters of the plugins I need. Individually, plugins within the 'Drive' and 'Comp' sub-zones work, but they don't function simultaneously. Regardless of the order in which I add the plugins, only the first one works. If I add the compressor first and then the saturator, only the compressor works. If I add the saturator first, only it works, but not the saturator. How can this be fixed?
Here is my Comps zone ("Drives" looks the same but with different plugins)
Code:
Zone "Comps"
SelectTrack4 LeaveSubZone

You can't have a "comps zone". You have to have one zon file for each FX you plan on mapping.
So you seem to be on the right track in that want to have a SelectedTrackFX style workflow. The idea being, you'd map the compressor widgets to the compressor FX params, the EQ widgets to the EQ params (note: these are all separate fx.zon files), then just activate the SelectedTrackFX to activate them.

The thing is, I lack parameters in the compressor section on Console 1 for comprehensive compressor control. For instance, I want to use the Low Cut knob to adjust the filter in the sidechain of the Kush Silika compressor when the Comp button is pressed on Console 1. Simultaneously, I aim to utilize this same knob for low-frequency filtering in Decapitator when the Drive button is pressed on Console 1. Is this not possible?

Hey MixMonkey thank you very much for helping me out !
Here is where I'm at >
- I switched back to my previous CSI folder where everything worked fine, Sends and Receives didn't work either
- I looked in the Advanced tab of the CSI prefs and the FP was set as Broadcaster and the Mini as listener with only the Home box checked. I removed them and it worked again.
- I saved the session and quit Repaer. Then I switched back again to your CSI folder, and sends and receives did not work, but the advanced setup was the FP set as Broadcaster and the Mini listener with only the Home box checked again! Removing those solved it
- Now if I close Reaper and open the project there is nothing setup in the advanced menu and everything seems to work like before with your folder. Nice !
-Then I tried mapping FXs with the Mini and it works. This is great !! I managed to add modifiers and the ButtonUpper row in the surface layout. I also added the GoAssociatedZone LearnFXParams action.I've played a little with the remap and learn fonctionalities and I love them!
So everything is great at this point
-After that I tried switching again to the EXP dylib. A lot of weird stuff back again on the FP with displays and globally things getting mapped the wrong way on the tracks...
I could not understand how to make the fx generating using the NoMap zone.
So I went back to the github version.
I think I'm going to stick with this 3.2.2 version, which apparently seems to work great for me. I'll come back here if I encounter any further issue
Now I'm gonna take time to remap all my FXs and hopefully I can go back to work in a few days...
Thanks a lot for your help man, deeply appreciated !!
CSI is wonderful !
If it is of any use for anyone, I'm linking to this post my currently functioning CSI folder using the Faderport16 and the X-touch mini with CSI 3.2.2

I just got one and it is fantastic !
I'm wondering if it is going to be possible to use it with CSI because it does not appear in Reaper MIDI devices preferences. Is it not a MIDI surface ?
Can it work with OSC maybe ? I don't think I get this thing really..

With earlier versions, if you wanted to use MIDI, you had to be sure not to run the Softube software.
Not sure if that is still the case.

The Advanced tab can be tricky. As soon as you start using it you essentially have to make all the Broadcast/Listen connections yourself (even setting devices to Listen to themselves). When the Advanced tab is not used, all the Broadcast/Listen connections are made for you.

AboutLearn: Are you seeing a dialog box when using GoFXSlot on an un-mapped plugin? You should be. You can re-enter Learn mode using GoAssociatedZone LearnFXParams, but only if you've not made any changes to the fx.zon (either manually or via RemapAutoZone).

It sounds like there are some issues to be sorted out with the Faderport. I don't have one of these, so I'm not going to be much help there.
Quote:

Using the newer CSI version, instead of seeing that dialog box when opening an unmapped plugin, you are automatically sent to the "NoMap" Zone. If you look at the NoMap Zone in the files I posted, you can see that AutoMapSlotFX is assigned to all the RotaryPushes (this means that to Automap a plugin, you just need to press the RotaryPush twice ). Learn is assigned to ButtonLower7 and Cancel (GoHome) is assigned to ButtonLower8.
Quote:
So I went back to the github version.
|
For the time being, until the FaderPort issues are resolved, this is the best policy.

Yes the dialog box pops up as it should
Thanks for this precision, it is very good to know that the learn function will not work once the zone has been remaped. Will save me some headache for sure

One other thing (to save you some frustration). When you want to re-enter Learn mode to alter an existing map, you MUST turn a control on the plugin GUI BEFORE you activate Learn (via GoAssociatedZone LearnFXParams).
It won't work otherwise and you'll go looking for a Zone error that doesn't exist...

Portable works, but installed not
I have Reaper V7.05, but CSI 3 works properly only from the Portable USB-stick. Not the one installed on my computer.
I had added/replaced some older Actions to a "Buttons.zon" and they do not work. Plugin automapping and basic transpot etc. works. However my older Actions like "Insert MIDIfile" does nothing anymore, but they used to work for years using CSI V1.1. Wondering what is wrong with my Computer, since portable Reaper with CSI 3 on the same machine works?

It seems that it is not...
If I quit the softube console 1 app in the control center the surface goes off, so it does not show in the midi devices prefs and not in the CSI settings either.
I don't know... can anyone quickly tell us how it works with a console 1 mk1 or mk2 ?

Yes, I had a mk2 and it worked fine as a MIDI device as long as you didn't run the software.

Did you use the CSI folder from the working portable install to replace the older one on the computer?

I got it working by installing another Portable version straight to C: and copying CSI 3 from the USB stick in to it. My original Reaper install has older V6.82 Reaper, so that might be a reason for previous trouble. Still a bit curious why transport worked, but not those Actions I programmed. Anyways, now I need to check which is a latest V6 version that CSI 3 works on it too. Thank you very much!

I don’t know about v3 but with CSI v1 you could map only VST, not AU

FX Containers
Is it possible to have an FX Mapping for a container? So if I build a CS within a container, can I have a specific mapping to that container that is different to the regular FX mappings?
Maybe this could be done somehow for MFT with its pages. So Page 2 could be a CS controller.

VST is always your best bet, if you can.
Which Audio Units plugin(s) ?

I agree that Pages would work well for this.
Just be aware that Pages have been neglected for a while, might need some cleanup on my part
