@cfillion
Hi !

Private repos on GitLab don't work with ReaPack, but when said to public, it works.

I think GItLab is blocking unlogged user connection to respect privacy of the repo.

Do you know how/if it is possible to make ReaPack access private GItLab repos ?

It is surely in GitLab project seetings, but I don't know what I have to activate ^^

Thanks for your support !

An easy-to-use, professional-looking plugin installer such as ReaPack may well be a game changer for REAPER and for users who don't have the time or inclination to search through the forums for useful scripts.

- Are there any plans yet to make ReaPack itself easily discoverable and well known among (new) users?

- ReaPack crashes REAPER in Linux Wine while loading, with a C++."Runtime error!" "abnormal program termination".

Ranking on search engines is the only tool at our disposal.

So, we have to count on showcases by users of the community (tutorial makers, articles writers, bloggers, forum members...).

I have an article ready that aims to democratize ReaPack for users and scripters but I'm waiting for the official v1.0 release to push it live.

SWS and The REAPER blog are featured prominently on the reaper.fm homepage under "Resources", so I expect that Justin would be amenable to including ReaPack there too.

@cfillion
FR: when we add a new repo, we have a prompt that tel lus if it is a success or not.
It could be it it is success, to have a button, on this same prompt, to go on its management page, or at least to the repo list, so that we can download files right away.
A small enhancement that can be very handy especially for new comers ;P
Thanks

I cannot reproduce the crash using wine v1.9.9, REAPER v5.20 32 & 64-bit. Which version are you using?

Needed to clean my folders
and downgrade to 5.18.

Deleted reapack.ini
deleted registry.db
but the plugin does not find anything to do on synchronize.

Repo is not installed.
What to do?

Edit: Went manual.
But I'm not sure if the script-manager works right for me now.

@G-Sun
Open the configuration dialog (Extensions > ReaPack > Manage repositories) and enable those you whish to use.
By default synchronize only installs updates (there is an option to make it install any uninstalled package like it did in the past).

This might be useful: https://github.com/cfillion/reapack/wiki.

https://github.com/cfillion/reapack-...es/tag/v1.0rc2

Manual intervention required Run this command on your script repositories to clean up the index and prepare it for the upcoming reapack update:

HI !

I switch a script version from 1.0.1 to 1.0,
and reapack-index only recognize the version with the highest number, so the commit number associated to the file was not up to date.
Apart from not rolling back version numbers, is there a way to tell that the last version of the script is the good one ?

Thanks for your support !

You can bump it to 1.0.2 or 1.1 to make it higher than 1.0.1, or remove/edit the existing 1.0.1 version manually from the index file.
But ReaPack will only consider versions higher than 1.0.1 as an update if v1.0.1 is already installed.

ReaPack v1.0rc1

ReaPack went a long way since the initial commit I pushed 6 months ago on the repository.
I believe it is now a capable package manager for REAPER scripts, effects, extensions and more.

This version contains bug fixes, enhancements and some new features.

Changelog and downloads: https://github.com/cfillion/reapack/...es/tag/v1.0rc1
New documentation/manual: https://github.com/cfillion/reapack/wiki.

Note for repo owners: If your scripts aren't registered in the Action List after this update, be sure to update the indexer and run the command from this post.

EDIT: Oops, looks like this release has a small regression that prevent changes made in the config dialog from being immediately applied in the package browser. Fixed for the next one.

I was using v1.6.2. I updated to the latest stable release, v1.8.2, and ReaPack now works fine.

The only remaining problem that I can see, is that the some of the fonts in the 'Description' tab look wonky. For example, in the ReaTeam description, the small font used for "Community-maintained collection of scripts for REAPER" is almost unreadable, and the fonts used for "ReaTeam Script Repository" and "Contributors" are readable but badly spaced.

I have the standard MS core fonts installed - do I need any other fonts?

@juliansader Try this if you use REAPER 32-bit:

Code:
winetricks msftedit
It should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/gTPu2sY.png
I could not find a solution for 64-bit on wine.

Everything is fine except error with X-Raym repo (errors in manager and when syncronize, about 'version' tag)

@X-Raym I sent you a message about this on slack. Some of your packages have an extra "v" in the version number which was causing issues.

Would it be possible to make ReaPack independent of this RichTextBox control? It is not a common part of a Wine installation, so I assume that most or all of the Wine REAPER users will encounter this problem.

The file itself is a tiny dll, but for some reason the winetricks download is >500MB (I am not sure what else winetricks was trying to download). I simply copied the file from a Windows PC and the fonts now look fine.

If I update my scripts in the ReaTeam repository or upload new ones, do I need to do anything else besides "commit" to the Master branch in order to synchronize them with ReaPack?

(I updated and uploaded my scripts a few days ago, but when I try to synchronize or re-import the repository, ReaPack does not see the changes.)

@juliansader
You need :
  • to upload them
  • to change their version tagnumber in their header if they get updated
  • to run reapack-index command inside the terminal / Git Shell.
The last operation can be done by every ReaTeam users periodically, but if you need to push update yourself, then you need reapack)index installed

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...git-repository

Quote:
First Go to your local repo
Show Hidden Files.
You will see a ".git" named folder in your local repo.
Delete That.
Now open Github for Windows.
If you click on that repo in Local Tab, you should get an Error that repo cant be found.
There is it, click on Re-Clone Repository button.
The Repo will be downloaded again and saved by default in My Documents/GitHub.

I run this command: reapack-index --rebuild -wa
...and I think everything went better than expected

(This was added: spk77_Split all items at edit cursor.lua)

As I understood '--rebuild-wa' suffix was needed only once for compatibility with last version of reapack. Regular commits goes without any suffix, only 'reapack-index'.

Thanks again mpl! I had a ReaPack version from the last December - had some problems when I tried to update it.
Now everything seems to be ok.

...except that spk77_Track IO mixer.lua doesn't work anymore, because it's not in the same folder as the rest of the included files.

Cfillion has done some changes to the ReaPack header code - maybe he is planning to do something for multifile scripts:

spk77_Track IO mixer: use extended glob syntax
cfillion committed 9 days ago

move spk77_Track IO mixer.lua out of the subfolder
cfillion committed 28 days ago

Oops, I moved it in the Various folder to remove the extra "Track IO mixer" bit in the category shown in reapack, but I forgot to update the paths in the script itself. I can't commit right now, can you fix it?

Thanks! The script is now fixed (I hope I did it correctly - feel free to edit the script ).

I also updated the index.xml...there are fixes/new stuff from juliansader.

Great work!
