Default Where can we set up a Default MIDI Note Color pref?

HI Guys,

I realize you can set the MIDI note color to a variety of things, but I'd like any MIDI item I create to display the notes using the Item Color by default... without having to go into each MIDI item and choosing that option.

Is there some project based MIDI note color pref I'm missing?

Thanks for any help.

When you use one MIDI editor for the entire project (instead of a per track or per item), the last setting you selected will be applied across all items, IIRC.

Thanks ED.... I'll see if that sticks.

This whole section is rather confusing:

Which one would you choose? The bottom left?

Hi Andrew, I use "Open items in built in MIDI editor", I think it will show all items in the Midi Editor that way. However, I strictly use full song midi items so that I can have "track based midi", I never have different items on each track.

I don't use midi loops of any kind, and I record all midi from my keyboard so "track based midi" is rather important to me.

Not that section

Preferences->Editing Behavior->MIDI Editor->Behavior for "open items in built-in MIDI editor": [Open all MIDI in the project]

and also One MIDI editor per: (x) project

And then if you don't have it enabled, enable Track List in MIDI editor to have an overview of what's loaded.

Thanks Todd and Evil!! I will have to give those settings a shot! Thanks for clarifying.

I'm in audio land right now... but seriously thinking of switching to Reaper for MIDI too. It will be hard to shake 25 years of Cubendo... that's why I'm slowly looking at MIDI even though I'm totally in the middle of audio editing for the near future.
