Default Learning reaper for voice over

Hi, I'm just getting started with Reaper. I've been using Audacity for recording and editing voice over. Reaper looks like an excellent tool, but I'm having a hard time grasping the basics. It seems that I take one step forward then two steps back. Many things I've looked at get into aspects of Reaper that I don't think I really need for the voice recording, editing and adding effects of voice over. Does your tutorial do anything specific for voice over? Would your tutorial confuse me with a lot of music, mixing and midi stuff that I don't really need for my application? Can you recommend any other tutorials that might more specifically focus on what I need for voice over?

Thanks...

Default Questions about tutorial/software version and promotional code

Hi Kenny:

I just purchased my Reaper license yesterday. Been evaluating for a few weeks and I really love the product :-) I am planning to buy the downloaded tutorial video series for $35, but there are two questions I would like to ask. I thought I would post them here in case others are interested:

1. I see there is a space to put a "coupon code" on the checkout screen. Is there a current promotion that would allow me to save a few bucks?

2. I noticed that the production of the video series dates to 2011. Is there an updated version of the tutorial (or the Reaper software) scheduled to be released in the near future? In other words, is there any reason I should delay buying the video tutorial? I just want to make my video content will be up-to-date.

Thanks for your help!

Default Still worthy?

I'm sure this has been asked before even in this thread.... Forgive me for not scrolling through them all to find out.

Are these tutorials still pretty relevant at 4 years old? I'm sure the basics are all still there but I wondered how much all the new updates and versions might confuse one who just downloaded REAPER? Does Kenny update the tutorials?

I don't mind buying them if they are still helpful.

Especially if Kenny has another half priced sale or wants to post a coupon code.

Thanks!

Sure as hell they are! I have this series plus 'tips and tricks' and 'SWS extensions' - all are totally relevant to the latest version and I refer to them often.

Default Suggestion: updated route for all Kenny´s lessons!

Hi Kenny,

I suppose that many new user Reaper (complete beginners like me) have choosen you as their teacher to begin studying from scratch, they would find convenient my suggestion for you (or someone who can help):

I would love to find a route to stay updated with all your tutorials, from the most basic to the most advanced, to follow your teachings deeply, including your work on Groove3, kennymania.com or any other that you have published; to not make the mistake of wasting time and effort, studying lessons that are currently out of date on the latest software version of Reaper.

I hope you consider this and to have access to this route as soon as possible, it would be helpful for all who appreciate your work as a Reaper's teacher. Thank you!

Agree ! An updated list, in one place, latest back to first, perhaps with Links.

I think over the next month or so, it's going to be very easy to find most of what you want in one location and up to date.

Thanks

I am very happy . Excellent news, I appreciate it! Please let us know here when is available.

Meanwhile, which of your tutorials (that are not outdated compared to Reaper 5) I can start from ceros to take advantage of time?

These were all shot in REAPER 5

http://www.reaper.fm/videos.php

As far as the others being outdated I don't know if I agree with you. While REAPER 5 did bring about new changes, I don't think the info in any of the other ones found here:

http://www.kennymania.com/product/reaper_explained/
http://www.kennymania.com/product/reaper-tips-tricks/
http://www.kennymania.com/product/reaper-advanced/
http://www.kennymania.com/product/mixing-in-reaper/

is automatically of no use. In fact, most of it works pretty much the same. Yes. Over time these will all be updated but it's not like REAPER 5 is a completely different program and anything shot in REAPER 4 will no longer work.

Thanks

I hope not cause a misunderstanding (sorry, english is not my native league) I meant, tutorials that can be applied in the latest version of Reaper without any problem of compatibility. But if these lessons that you mention it works, great. I will gladly study them.

I appreciate your time and attention! I will be pending!
