Where to slice soundwave at start of new item?
Hello.
I record a take, then i slice the item so that the first note starts exactly at the beginning of the bar.
Obviously a soundwave goes up and down, and when you zoom in, you can see where the first note begins (first soundwave starts rising).
In order to get the most punch out of that first note, where along the first soundwave should I slice the new item/take?
Should i slice it at the "flatline" /straight line (no sound) right before the first sounwave starts going up? (or slice at flatline a couple of waves after?)
Or should i slice it at the highest crest of the first soundwave?
Or should i slice at the lowest trough of the first soundwave?
I want the know, from those experienced at tracking guitars, what is the best technique?
So far I've made all my new items start at a "flatline" either right before the first soundwave or 2 or 3 soundwaves in.
(Sorry for my shitty terminology).
Thanks in advance.
