How do I convert old REAPER theme to WALTER?
Hi,
What's the best way to convert an old REAPER theme to WALTER specification for greater customization?

There's no such thing, that's not how it works; all themes are equally customizable. A blank text file is a fully functional Reaper theme, which can then be altered with theming tools, including WALTER, which can be used as much or as little as you need, from just a single line for a single element. Also, all themes have fallback WALTER, as described in WALTER : A themer's guide.

believe it or not i started reading your themer's guide several times over the years, but i drift away rather fast, since ultimately i'm not gripped with the urge to begin what seems like an entire career change.
ok so i see this is a boatload of work, thank for the info and for your service.

As weird as it might sound, it both IS and ISN’T as hard as it seems.
There are IMO countless ways to dive in, but for me it was through playing with a little here, then there… then infelt like I could do anything… then I felt like I knew nothing… and nowadays I tend to fluctuate between the two. Regardless, I really enjoy it most of the time.

So besides of Walter,
¿what other themeing tools, sripts or methods can we use to create/mod themes?
