Default Track Wiring Diagram

Does anyone know why the Track Wiring Diagram has not been released in version 5.94 (nor in the 5.941) as announced in the prerelease?

Probably because it is still prerelease. Just because a feature shows up in a prerelease does not mean that it will be in the next release.

Think this will be one of the important addition to the 6th jump.

Announcements for a release-version are only the features included in rc-versions.
Pre-releases often have features, the devs are still working on, to test the stuff and get feedback from the users.
With that, the wiring-diagram will become much better than what it would have been, if it were released in 5.94.

I suppose that can of worms still needs a lot of hair dressing lest to kick off an unbearable storm of complains, suggestions and requests. (see -> https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=209207 )

I suggest that the track wiring diagram have the option for multiple panels, not just one big one.

Group tracks and add to a panel, i.e. Strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, etc.

As many panels as the user wants, and any routing that goes to another panel is identified by a short cable leading into a textbox showing the panel destination.

1. Add new panel.

2. Name the panel.

3 Add tracks.

4 Route everything, and if the routing goes out of the panel, right click to add a textbox, and a list of potential track destinations. The receiving panel shows a textbox describing the source panel, and offers pins to route from.

5 Profit.

Alex.

This might be a huge hit on CPU for larger projects, but I think it would be cool if the wires in the Routing Diagram view could somehow be illuminated when there's audio and/or MIDI data passing between two tracks. I'm not sure how that should be displayed for audio signals but for MIDI, a colored flash similar to the TCP & MCP VUs would be sufficient.
