First post here. I mainly play jazz, and I didn't find any tutorial/video/etc of that kind of recording. Do anybody know any place with that kind of information? I am using Tukan plugins, with a 5E3 amp and Cannabis Rex speaker mic'd with a CAD Audio TSM411 microphone. I would like to use eq, reverb and delay.
Get it right at the source and don't worry about using plugins to sculpt the sound. Low volume with the 5e3 amp so it stays mostly clean. Otherwise, you should be looking at a deluxe/super or even a vintage Roland JC amp if you want/need more volume. You may also want to try mic'ing the amp with a ribbon mic, or even better yet with both mics and blending to taste, the ribbon can help to get the mellow jazz tone as long as you are doing traditional stuff vs Chick Corea Elektric Band stuff.
