Default ReaEQ: Band -> Peak/Bell

Shouldn't "Band" better be called "Peak" or "Bell"?

Nope. . e.g. shelving filter is a "band" so if you rename "band" to "bell" or "peak" it wouldn't be accurate. The point is, there are not just peak filters, but shelving and cut filters also, so they are called "bands".

i didn't ask to rename the "shelf" filters. i was talking about the "band" one. which is a peak/bell filtertype imo.

I agree on "peak" since band makes one think of raising a hole band, but thats about it

I'd like to be able to drag an EQ point out of the right edge of graph (like you can already drag them out to the top and bottom). - No I'm not crazy, I'll explain:
Let's say I got to much upper highs (16K+) and I want to attenuate those. Yeah, I could use a highshelf and just cut, but I want a "round edge", so I just pick a lowpass with a small Q and set it to around 25K. Here we go now I can easyly reach even down to 5K (cutting only ever so slightly) gradually increasing attenuation up to 20K (Currenty I'm doing this by numerically entering the value, just that you can see that the filter stays stable and doesn't explode.)

Okay sorry for hijacking this thread , but a tooltip in ReaEQ with the current courser positon (xxxHz, xxdB) would be nice (like ReaFir already has it).

Well I get a tooltip ON the points, but not (like it is the case in ReaFir) when hovering somewhere else in the EQ graph window. Did I miss a update

No, you are right. I misunderstood is all. I just add a point and move it to where I want it.

Bump! I tried to explain filters to my students today, and noticed that "band" should be called "bell" to avoid confusing.
