Default Some Theming Questions

Hi Everybody,
Could need some help with theming:

After editing the tcp a bit, I have in the theme editor this:

1. What does Walter Font 1, 2 etc. mean?
2. Does anyone know, why it's still not possible to split the fonts of volume, pan and label font?
3. Is the background of a track control a *.png? ...and is it possible to change the size?

1. is the answer to 2. In the theme's WALTER script (rtconfig.txt of your theme) you can specify for example that volume label uses "WALTER font 1" and pan label uses "WALTER font 2". You could even switch the volume or pan (or send/track control knob/record input readout/whatnot) label font depending on track header size or folder level if you're so inclined. The actual font styles are then chosen in the theme editor list with those entries.

As of 3.: Do you mean track control as in the buttons and faders and stuff? Yep, they are pretty much all png images. The final size, position and stretching behaviors are set in the WALTER script. If you want a solo button to be 18x18px, you have to define that in the WALTER script. No matter the size of the underlying pngs (eg tcp_solo.png and tcp_solo_on.png), WALTER will stretch them to the defined size. Best quality when no stretching is needed, obviously, so you want to create the underlying pngs fitting to the size you set.

Hi gofer,
many thanx for that!

Can I also give the BPM, bar/time signature in the transport area a seperate font size?

Short answer: yes. But I think you are limited to the eight fonts in the theme editor list in what you do.
On the site WALTER sdk if you scroll downward, you find a looong list of all the UI elements you can set in Walter. Everything with .font in that list can be assigned to one of these eight fonts.

BPM and timesig readout would be trans.bpm.edit.font and trans.curtimesig.font

Hi gofer and everybody else,
If I set in the theme-editor the font-size of "Volume / Pan Label Font", also the size of BPM, timesig, start of selection etc. are affected.
But I want to give all these displays in the transport-area a different font-size.
1. Please, could someone write down, what I have to insert in the rtconfig?
2. And how do I assign this with "WALTER font 1" or 2 etc?

Default hi folks

Hi folks,
I could answer my questions by try end error, exept of one:

- I set the font-size of the transport displays with "Volume/pan label font"...OK!

- I set the font-size of the pan.label.font with "WALTER font 2" -->
set tcp.pan.label.font [2] ...OK!

- I set the font-size of the tcp.fxparm.font with "WALTER font 7" -->
set tcp.fxparm.font [7]
and this didn't function! But when I switched to
"WALTER font 1" ..> set tcp.fxparm.font [1]...everything was ok!

Does anyone know the reason? Is there any difference between "WALTER font 1" and
"WALTER font 7"??
