Strange problem

Hi guys,
Last night while recording midi drums, I noticed that when I play back, the very first note seems to be softer and muted.
I tried recording it again and adjusted the velocity.
When I play it back as a loop, the note is only affected when I start, but is fine when the loop begins again.
This is causing the intro of the song to be impacted in a negative way.
I am stumped…any thoughts?

When you "play it back as a loop" does that mean like dragging it out to create loops or are you looping via the transport?

Zoom in on the left end of the item. Is there a short fade in there?

Nope, no fade in.

so a question might be... what happens if you insert empty space before that [assuming it is the first measure] so that the song starts with maybe 2 bars of nothing and then hits that first note?

might be worth testing
