Default Error R6025 - pure virtual function call on SWS/BR: Toggle preview take under mouse

I get the error in the title and Reaper crashes when I use SWS/BR: Toggle preview take under mouse through track, and switch to a different project tab while the preview is in progress. 100% repro rate.

I can confirm the crash here.
But since it's a bug / crash related to an SWS action it should rather go in the SWS issues tracker, not the Reaper bug forum.

https://github.com/reaper-oss/sws/issues

If you could put it there that would be nice.

I have this reply from the SWS issue tracker:

"This seems to be a REAPER bug. SWS only starts the preview. Any preview going through a project's track crashes when switching to another tab."

I was wrong, see my edited answer. I've posted a test build that should address the issue.
