Default VU meter peaks

Is there a way to make the VU meter peaks a bit more sticky, maybe stay visible until overtaken by a subsequent peak?

well I'm not sure, but I think a peak counter would be nice. then when you play the song and see the number 3, you know you don't need to bring down the mix as a whole, but just find 3 little problem areas.
