I don't think so, never heard of one existing.

Well, I've done a project with 38 instances and it works just fine, if it is of any help. Of course, I cannot guarantee that it will behave as well in every scenario, but it's still my absolute reference in Linux, with Yabridge...

It actually does work great via Yabridge... but I find it a bit erratic and temperamental (WINE is the issue I'm sure).
To be specific, when I have a project open and put the computer on sleep, the Windows VST does not work and freezes Reaper. This and similar seems to be non stock plugins in general (having issues) in Linux. But when all is well, it works and sounds great. |

Well, I've never met that specific bug since I don't use the sleep function, but I can understand your point of view if that is a part of your daily workflow. In my case, I've found that Synth1 is THE instrument for me in the synth realm. The rest are just additions. Hence, I hope it works well indefinitely in Linux, since I've lost all hope for an open-sourced. native version of it...

I think Ichiro Toda created what today is a sweet spot, where the most important capabilities to make enjoyable music are readily available, and not obscured by a hundred or thousand other things. And once familiar with the available sounds, as found in myriad preset collections, it's easy to customize them to fit the many whims of the Muse. If I could only have 5 synths to choose from, Synth1 would be right there.
Cheers

That's a synth that I wouldn't mind got a GUI overhaul. In case daichi is too busy, my dream team for development: Daichi plus one of the following: Surge Team, DiscoDSP, Blaukraut, U-He
wait.. it might be even cooler if someone like Saike made a synth1 clone in ReaJS Last edited by reapercurious; 01-30-2024 at 12:59 AM. |
