Default Is "move edge without changing fade time" (Mouse Modifier) working for you?

I had to reinstall my system (again) and I can't make this work:

Is this modifier working for everyone?

Thanks for looking into this, schwa.

Yeah, I just tried it with a new "reaper-mouse.ini" and it works (I was using my old "reaper-mouse.ini"), on an empty project. Then I opened the project I'm working on right now and it doesn't work there... well, it works, partially, please take a look:

IIRC I trimmed all my items with "auto trim/split items", maybe there's a bug there? I mention this because I just split an item and it works properly with both splits.... hmmm

As that's an auto-fade, is it just too small to be reduced by "with changing fade..." action?

Edit: Below a certain-size fade (with mine that seems to be default auto-fade size) it does not work. Slightly increase the fade size (and slightly can mean only by a tiny bit) and it works.

I'd venture it's either a bug or a limitation (for whatever reason).

The "without changing fade time" mouse modifier does only work if the fade time is more than 10 ms. Would could change this if it's a problem.

Yes, schwa, please. That limitation shouldn't exist in my opinion. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it here which probably means it isn't common to preserve fade times that short but as you can see it caught me off guard when I "did" need it

Hi, did you ever change this? Because it's still behaving that way for me:

I'm using Ctrl to move the edge without changing fade time, and this behaviour doesn't make sense to me. I'd love it if you could either change it or add an option for it to never affect fade time even if fades are short.

Please. I have no idea why this is limited to long-only fade ins. Especially on drums and other explosive recordings it feels counter-intuitive why suddenly this mouse modifier isn't working.

I think it should be changed to 0 becuase as it is results in unexpected behavior.
