convert overlapping item to new take

Hi,
For clarity I have enabled the option "show overlapping media items in lane".

I copy/pasted an item on top on another item. I get the following:


Now I want the small item at the bottom to become a new take of the track, so I can easily work by selecting the parts I want reaper to read across the two items.

How I do that ?

Right-click on the selected items (or choose "Item" on the menu at the top) -> Takes -> Implode items on same track into takes
